Almost new 2013 Anthem on Ebay
I was surfing a bit this morning and found this...
entegra anthem 2013,,, 2 months old entegra anthem 2013,,, 2 months old | eBay
I feel badly for the owners... A couple of months and they become too ill to keep it. I never priced a new Anthem - is this a reasonable price? I'm not interested (holding out for a 44' someday), but maybe someone can get a good deal...

I'm not sure that the price of this is really all that great. Assuming that the "used" price would now drop to at least dealer cost, that would put the price somewhere in the $260,000 to $270,000 range. At $300,000 the unit would seem to be priced on the high side. Just my opinion, but remember it is now "used" and that changes the value dramatically.

Dealer cost is that low? Wow...I would have thought closer to the 300,000 for cost. Shows how much I know.

I have been told by salesperson that I met on ATV trip that dealer cost on the higher end units are 40% off list, that would fit in with wyntaxman's reply. list of 434 k puts dealer cost at 260 k, no one thought they only made 100 bucks like car dealers, Did they?? MHSRV advertising 25 to 31 % off list without even getting serious with them, and from reading posts latly RV Direct is better than that.

I would think for that unit if owner really negotiated hard (including RV Direct) owner would have paid 290 - 295. Assuming I am not overestimating my own negotiating ability I din't think much over 32% off msrp is obtainable especially given that Entegra Coaches seem to be in high demand right now. I don't know how much off that price the 2 months use would cause but if the right buyer comes along that person could certainly pick up a nice coach and be happy.

If they are wanting 300 for it, I believe that would be a great price for anybody. You'd be hard pressed to get any of the big 3 dealers to drop 32% or more on a new Anthem. Even if you feel it is "used", how can you justify such a low price. If a dealer had it, they still be trying to get 300 out of it.

The problem is that the unit is now "used" and as such has a nada wholesale price of around $210,000 with a retail in the $250-270K range. It is not fair, just the reality and if you are trying to borrow money to buy it that is the figures the banks will use for loan value. If you have cash, if this is the unit you want and if you do not mind not being the first owner then a higher price than the above could still be a bargain as it would be cheaper than you could buy from the dealer. The clock is started on both mileage and time warranty and the reality is that you can buy new from a dealer for very close to that price and be the first owner. All just my opinion.

Like noted it is a now a USED unit and should be valued as a used unit. I am sure he would love to get full retail, but not in this market unless he finds a blind buyer.

I'm here to tell you that if it was being sold at a dealer they would sell it for as much as $300,000, because you would be a miracle worker to beat a dealer down that low on a new one. Also, there are not many Anthems out there on lots to choose from. Check the dealer websites. most Anthems are sold before they reach the lot. If It was what I was looking for, I'd look at it seriously. The Low retail on a 2012 is still $281,250.00. And it goes up from there as far as Condition is concerned and a bank would loan. Now, the fact that it's an RBQ may sway more folks too. But a bank would still loan the 300 for it, minus the 20% down depending on your credit.

How do you get your Wholesale and retail numbers. When I look up NADA I see different numbers. I know it's human nature to haggle, but do you really think a dealer would sell this coach for 250. Especially with the backlog of coaches and the current price increase. I feel that the person that owns this coach is going to have to drop some, but it would really depend on a buyer. Entegras are highly sought after, which could help them.

I noticed that the seller is a part time dealer. Check the Chevy 1500 he sold, it has the same "Bushes Warehouse" sign in the back ground and one motorhome he sold did not have a title so the sale fell through. It is not a private sale he is a "dealer"

Dana, I may be a little low on what the dealer would get but I know of one that has sold for $260k though it was a 2011. Another dealer told me he had a 2012 that he would likely get $265-270 for but again complicated by trade figures so you really do not know. I do know of a couple of 12s that were bought very close to the 300 figure and my 11 was well below that figure. The ARE getting MUCH more popular and hard to find on lots and as you point out that certainly could be a factor. I just think it is VERY HARD for an individual to get close to what a dealer can sell on for for a number of reasons; financing, service, extra attention after the sale, someone to call with problems, make a deal for wholesale parts or maintenance items for a period of time etc. NO question it is a beautiful, like new coach, I just think it is likely "worth" more than an individual selling it will be able to get and I really do not see a dealer being able to get $300k for it even on a trade. All just my opinion and I very well could be wrong, I hope I am and he does get it sold for $300k, it will make all our coaches worth more.

Shardan,
I can say that below $300K new at the old pricing was pretty easy to get to. That said this is an advertised price used, and most folks who list stuff expect some haggling. Just depends on how many phone calls he gets whether he will have to budge.
