Our Monaco Cayman does not have an Aqua Hot system, however we have friends who do have the system in their coaches. I will have to pass this info on to them. Some thoughts about the system came to mind. I do not know exactly how the RV system works but, I have had similar experience with water heaters on large yachts. One must be VERY careful that the heating coils in the water tank do not develop a leak and contaminate potable water with engine coolant. Even a little coolant in drinking water can be fatal. We use primarily electrical to heat hot water but have the option of using propane. Carrying enough water to cover an emergency is a good idea.

Wonder how many RV'rs knew H20 (water) was heavier than petro or gas!
Unfortunately the Boy Scouts wouldn't accept me, wrong equipment. I'm just an anal engineer. I read these full tanks of water (and if you're dry camping, I can see possibly filling a 100 gal. water tank (834#)....but if you use water usage wisely (turn on/off the pumps when you need to use or on/off buttons in the shower)....it's amazing how far a half tank can go. Just a suggestion!! I have an old 36 ft. National so don't have all the fancy features or washer and drier on board....I still use the old method of pounding on rocks technique for washing clothes and clothes line for drying articles.....(can provide lessons if so desired)....or a laundromat! (ha ha).....have fun camping!!!

Been there done that too
Yup I always fill my water tank at home before I go. Also, stuck in a traffic jam on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel early one morning. Made coffee and hung out in my beach chair. Others were envious.

I travel with 30 gals of water, unless heading to a dry camp site. Maybe 1 gal of mixed antifreeze, nowhere close to th 8-10 I would need.
I would be headed with the toad to and auto parts or hardware store for a connector.

Phil,
Just checked mine today as I had to exercise the tempering valve anyway and I have the same two plastic barbed reducers that you have on the Aquahot engine loop. Have a pair of brass ones on order.
Thanks for the heads up on this potential failure point.

This post is one of those times I realized that I was making an assumption that needs to be reconsidered. Both the OP and many of the replies convinced me to fill up the water tank before any long-distance trips. I've been of the mind that the water would foul after a time and the volume would reduce fuel efficiency, but considering a full water tank would only add about 250 lbs and I suppose one can always sanitize the tank a few days prior to the trip and then drain/fill with fresh the night prior.
Good stuff this thread.

Good afternoon
I have two questions:
1- Can someone attach a photo of where I am supposed to find these barbed fittings
2- Can someone tell me how to replace them?
Thanks

Here is the pictures from the back of the aquahot. You have to access from the rear as that is the only way to get to it

You need to get 2 barb connectors that are not plastic. 5/8” to 1/2”

His coach is listed as a Forester 2151LE - smaller water capacity...
