Also if you register a vehicle you already own from another state, after you have owned it for 6 months, there is no tax on the transfer. Very friendly for those moving from other states, or MT LLC's. Plate fees are $48-$54. per year. No value or ownership tax each year. Also no sales tax on the trade in value of a new purchase. I don't know what SD long term tax value is, but those are the ones for FL. Higher sales tax up front, but compare the long term.

CHUCK, if I close my MT LLC and register my coach and toad in Florida no sales tax? Since becoming residents two years ago Iíve been debating the move but hesitated because I thought I did have to pay the sales tax. Hmmmmm. Now to make sure I really wonít be buying new again. Not like some people that wait 5 years to buy new then after barely a year buy new again

Rick, yes you can transfer title in FL from the LLC sales tax free. The only catch, you cannot change the name on the title. Mine was in our trust name, LLC so it made no difference on the FL title and when I sold the coach. Keep a copy of the LLC when you go to sell the coach, attach that with the title. A copy of the front page of our trust was all I needed to clear customs for the Canadian buyer.

It will cost about $400 for title transfer and new FL plates, each vehicle.

It's been too many years, 2002 and fees have all changed. I have seen posts where the MT license fees have doubled.
