Anthem 44SL vs 44DLQ

If you have an Anthem 44SL, is there a reason why you liked it better than the 44 DLQ?

Tom & Regina,

For Lover and I, picking the SL over that particular floorplan is bigger pass. side sofa, which I am not sure if that resulted in a bigger hide-a-bed or not, and the #1 reason....I can't have a bathroom without a sink to wash my hands before exiting or touching the door handle! Just one of my many phobias!

The toilet area with the sink gives you more room in there also. Not all cramped up since I'm 6'2".

1. Because the Mrs. and I do not want to share the same vanity space. The 44SL gives us each our own separate areas. When we want to brush teeth, shave, do makeup and all that other stuff, we are not bumping elbows and annoying each other.

2. The DLQ has difficult access to the bedroom with slides in.

3. The SL has a full length couch on passenger side, the DLQ does not.

Marc, the DLQ has a linen closet in the bath area. Is there such a thing in the SL?

Does your SL have the booth or stand alone dinette with chairs? If the later could you post a couple pictures? Thanks.

It has a linen closet in the bedroom, adjacent to the bathroom and just in front of the king bed. See photos

Thanks Marc. One last favor - do you have a picture of the whole living room area taken front to back? I would like to see how the DS couch and dinette look together. Thanks!

My coach does not have a couch on the drivers side. We ordered it with two recliners instead. If you would like a photo of that I will get one for you.

As Chuck said, I definitely have to weigh in on this one. I agree with everything Marc says so I won't repeat it.

In addition to the ease of access to the BR with the slides in, the opening with the slides out is a double door width making the area feel suite-like. DW uses the space to exercise to her Wii - it is so large and open using the BR TV.

Not sure but I think the bedside table on the right side of the bed may be larger which helps with my CPAP machine.

We have the booth instead of the chairs. I work at the booth and it gives storage under the benches.

The DS sofa is a jackknife or futon like bed. With the two sofas we can both laze out or we also have the PS seat. We could use the DS seat but we usually don't turn it.

By having my sink in the water closet room, it keeps my messiness somewhat out of sight of DW which adds to marital harmony.

I have asked two different dealers why they don't ever have SL's. The answer was startlingly similar: "Everyone wants a bath and half nowadays and when we do order one it is sold before or as soon as it arrives." Ummm Excuse me?

FWIW Tad told me that the SL is a classic and a long-time favorite and that he couldn't understand why they aren't ordered by dealers more often.

I think the SL is a terrific plan. Not for everyone and not trying to say it should be. For us, we like it more every time we use it. We used to imagine things we'd change, but not so much anymore. We sort of hope they don't make a Cornerstone SL!

I like a lot of the features, but DW hates the thought of craning her neck to the side to watch TV. I like the hutch in the DEQ more. If the SL had the TV on a lift behind the PS sofa, and a hutch where the TV is, it'd be practically perfect.

We had an SL on order and changed to a DLQ. Below is what we viewed + & - comparison between the DLQ and SL only. Keep in mind some of our decision is based on our handicapped son and his needs, we do nothing without considering JR's needs.

SL+'s
The door opening from the bedroom to the bathroom is huge and has a great feel to it. The DLQ is almost impossible to enter the bedroom with the slide in, my wife would need a breast reduction to do this .
It has the most space around the shower of any Entegra floor plan.
The toilet has it's own lav.
Passenger side has a larger couch (although not important for us).

DLQ +'s
Two additional windows (a second window at head of bed and one on DS in bathroom) Also, window on PS side in bedroom slightly larger.
A little more dresser storage
Slightly wider passage way from salon to bathroom as you pass by fridge. Both could be slightly wider IMHO.

In summary
For us the SL would have been a little better for showering my son (JR) due to the huge open space around the shower area but we opted for the DLQ for the additional dresser storage and two windows. We like and ordered the table/chairs which includes the larger hide a bed option on the DS. The hide a bed is standard (I think) on the PS of the SL.

Both great floor plans.

Two big minuses for the SL to us were the lack of BR windows and frig. in the hallway. Both great just depends on personal preference. Noel
