Anthem pricing

Can anyone share their experience who purchased a 2019 Anthem...specifically when trading in a motorhome on a 2019 Anthem what was the percentage off MSRP the dealer started with?

25% off MSRP is probably the base price that you start seeing offered for a new 2019 on the lot (See MHSRV web advertisement, for example). You can do better. How much better depends on a lot. You should be able to get close to 30%. Maybe more. And in April or May when dealers are trying sell unsold model year coaches, probably more. But, you know, the issue is what you are getting for your trade in- and what you are getting offered for the new coach. RVTrader gives you a good idea of what people with used coaches are asking for their coach, but my belief is that all of them are actually selling their coaches for a good deal less than you see the typical offer. Of course, some people have more reasonable asking prices than others.

We ordered ours at FMCA Rally in Perry from National Indoor RV Center. We are full-timers so it was difficult to do an outright sale. We traded and received the show price which was around 34% percent and ended up getting around 97% wholesale on our trade. I felt pretty good until I saw that they sold my trade in 3 days and I saw the selling price.

I have to say we are really liking the Anthem.

The trade is where the numbers are played with, not so much the % discount. One dealer may offer a 40% discount, but give $50,000 less on the trade in. The bottom line a 25% discount off of MSRP.

Similar situation at MHSRV in Alvarado, TX on an ancient 2001 Monaco Dynasty. They re-sold my Dynasty for a $45,000 profit in 7 days, and invested virtually nothing in the coach before it went out the door again. Guess that is what dealers do.... NIRVC considers the buy price difference to their sell price as "risk". They are on the hook for return complaints and repairs from the new owners in addition to the fixes that they do before it is sold. Guess that is "business".

It has always amazed me when people trade in while they have a 6 month waiting period for a new coach? Consignment is as good as cash if someone doesn't want to sell it themselves.

I purchased my TS one year old from a winter resident. I waited until April to pick it up after purchasing it from him in Feb. It was what I wanted and was willing to wait. I would not purchase from North Trails our local dealer, so the owner was a perfect choice and I didn't need the coach until summer. It was a win win, he didn't have to trade it in on his new park model and I didn't have to travel to pick it up.
