Anthem roof repair at Demontrond 7 weeks and counting

On May 6th we brought our 2014 Anthem to Demontrond in the Houston area for a roof repair estimate. While there Demontrond backed another RV into our parked RV damaging the bathroom window and bay door. They acknowledged it and would order the window ASAP and fix it during with the roof replacement. On May 27th (3 weeks later)our appointment date finally arrived for the 2 week repair. On June 1st they fired most of their employees. We have been there begging for the repair completion 3 times and have called and emailed almost daily for updates. Each time there are excuses and not much is done. Finally on July 2 - the roof part was done but there is no painter to fix the door paint. We are bleeding money in hotel costs over $4500 then the restaurant meals in addition. We sent several emails to the president of Demontrond the managers and supervisors. Today they say maybe next week. But we can't call them because their phones are broke and we got an email about maybe next week again. It is not an insurance deal we are paying for the repair of the roof with Flex armor ourselves. Has anyone had a similar experience and if so can you offer us some advice or ideas on how to get our home back.

Call your insurance company. That's why we have insurance. Relocation fees are usually covered if you have the correct insurance
Let your insurance company put the pressure on the shop or their insurance company.

All I had to do is read your Subject line and I felt your pain. There are 2 dealers in Houston that have the same reputation as Brobox's least favorite dealer.

A friend just got his Cornerstone out of the shop after 8 months. They said it was going t take a month. When he went to pick it up the insta hot, cameras, dash air, and front roof AC did not work, but had worked when he put in shop. Took another two weeks to get the AC's fix. Cameras still not working but he was tired of cancelling trips waiting on coach. So it could be worse.

We had the Flex Armor Roof installed in November 2023, in Ft. Myers. I had considered the Houston shop, but after going there and watching them work for about an hour, decided they would not touch the rig.
How far are you from the shop? Visit them daily and set up camp in the waiting room.

DeMontrond RV has 3 locations in the Houston area.

Is this the Spring, Texas City or Conroe location?

Hate to see all "painted with the same brush" if this is one location/personnel related.

Options for excessive repair times.

For an extensive repair such as a roof replacement there should have been a detailed quote/estimate for the parts and labor. Due to the cost there should have been some follow form of agreement which should have included time. With the accident even though thought accepted blame that also should have been document including the required reporting to the state. Here in NY anything of $1,000 or more gets reported.
For recourse, contact the state DMV. Most states have extremely extensive controls over auto repair facilities including time vehicles can be in for service.
Next would be to document the extended costs of lodging and meals and try small claims court. Generally, you can sue for up to $3,000 for a minimal fee and the defendant will need to be there with representation. You will get their attention.

Thanks everybody for your responses. We got the RV back from them on July 5. The cost for the roof and wood repair was $14,000 and our living expenses from Memorial day to after 4th of July were over $6,000. Hotels and such. What bad experience that cost us $20,000 and a lot of the summer. Stay away from Demontrond in Texas. For us the first part of their name should have been a clue. D E M O N --

We went to the DEMONtrond RV Collision Center near Spring but they have a Houston address. We contacted several other locations for assistance from upper management and no one would ever respond. The company has many sites and it is all connected. No one answers the phone at that location any more or maybe they have blocked us.

I would not trust anyone from that company at any location as all I requested was the name of their insurance company.

The FlexArmor roof has been good so far. I would recommend that system and it has a lifetime warranty.

Demontrond

I am sorry they continue to treat you this way. Since they let go everyone, we have been having trouble getting hold of anyone higher up ourselves. I've never seen a business like this place. As far as Flexarmor goes, they finally had a trained crew doing a good job and then they fired everyone. We are not having any more progress than you have getting hold of anyone in authority. This is why we prefer owner operators, not dealerships, for our applicators.

When I finally hear from upper management, I will be providing them with the emails you sent me, maybe we will get somewhere on getting you some compensation.

Why would you still let a company like this represent your product?

We aren't, the problem currently is getting legal paperwork to the right people. The owner we dealt with has retired on medical leave and not responding and no one in that company seems to have a clue as to who is in charge. We are going through all the legal steps.
