Aqua hot

We have extreme cold and snow coming to Louisiana tonight and tomorrow. My coach is in an enclosed 40x60 building but the temperatures may get to 11 degrees. Question is can I run aqua hot on diesel in that building if the electric can’t keep it from freezing. I am only interested in keeping it from freezing. Thanks

I don't know about running it inside, but the electric element will not keep up below about 40°.

BTW we're in a campground in Hammond right now and the burner does run quite a bit.

Later...

I don’t run my Aquahot on diesel in a building.

In Michigan I do use electric only on my driveway down to about 20. I run the Aquahot on electric for basement and front only. It seems to keep the basement and entire coach about 15 to 20 degrees over the outside temperature. The lowest my vegatouch will allow the heat setting is 45.

When the temperature gets below 20 I kick on the diesel. But that is with the coach outside.

Granted the electric element alone will not keep the coach comfortable but above freezing.

If you’re able you can always put a small electric heater on low inside the building as well as run the Aquahot on electric. You don’t need much to keep above freezing.

Or pull the coach outside and run electric and diesel.

I have run the AH in my shop. I just make sure there is nothing on the floor that the exhaust could catch fire. Shop is free standing and I make sure no one is in building until I air it out

Did you add anti-gel to the diesel tank?

Inside a building you can also just run a few electric heaters to keep it warm.

Aux heat

Mine is in an enclose building with no heat but 50 amp. It's been down to the 20s here in Texas. Running the Aquahot on electric, plus I took the panel off in my wet bay & pointed a small electric heater in there. Front & rear zones set at 45 & holding that. Mid & basement in the mid 50s thanks to that little aux heater.

I am in French Settlement Louisiana in the same situation. My Coach is inside of my non-heated 40x50 shop right now plugged into 50 amp service. Aquahot is on electric only. Zone 3 is set at 45. Zones 1 and 2 are off. Basement is set at about 50 but holding there without even really cycling on. Zone 3 is holding at 48 without even cycling on. Zone 2 is off but holding at 50. I have the living room fireplace/heater on and it is cycling on and off with zone 1 holding at 55.

It is 25 degrees outside and pouring snow right now and the temp is supposed to drop to about 12 degrees tonight after the snow stops late this afternoon.

I feel it will hold where it is but the basement and zone 3 may start cycling tonight. I pray the power does not go out but if it does I have a tailgating generator exhaust extension that I can install sideways pointing to the front of the coach and out of the bottom of the rollup door with a shop fan plugged into the coach blowing out the crack in the bottom of the rollup door also.

Really feeling extremely blessed right now to have this shop with my coach inside and right here at my house.
