Aqua Hot Fault

Have a 2015 Anthem. The AH status panel has a RED fault light "ON" for pump #1. I have no apparent circulation of fluid for zone 1 and possibly zone 2 of my heating system. What is the next step? Can I do a reset on the status panel and see what happens or any other advice. Will I need power to be on or off. Thanks for the help.

A reset can't hurt. It does not matter if the system is on or off.

Next try opening the top of the AH, and try giving each of the two easily visible pumps a gentle knock with a rubber mallet or something like that. The pumps have been known to stick. Not sure if a sticking pump always causes a red light on the panel.

Otherwise phone CS or AH, in my opinion.

Check the hoses of the kitchen slide under the bottom drawer and behind the rubber flap on the right side.
Ours were kinked and the dealer had to fix it twice.
If this is the case, let them us a better quality hose, it's working fine now.

Ron.

Contact Aqua-Hot customer service (303) 651-5500.

You will need the model number and serial number of your Aqua-Hot. You will find this information on a data plate on top of the heater. You will also need the VIN of your coach and the date your coach was purchased.

Explain that you have a “red” light illuminated on your electronic control board for Zone 1.

Aqua-Hot hydronic heaters have a 2-year warranty.

Tried the status panel reset and it did reset but faulted as soon as system was activated again. Removed the cover and gave the pump a few "percussion adjustments". That would be a couple sharp raps and again no luck. Talked to Entegra tech and they are 2 day shipping out a new pump. I will replace the pump myself and expect all to be well again. Thanks for all your responses and support.

Mr, Berke can you please shed some light on why rv service guys claim to know the ahot systems and they are just guessing unlike the pros such as yourself. The one who looked at mine even went as far as to tell entegra mine was working. When he had no idea of what he was talking about. As it is fine now after stir pump installation. THX for any insight.

Not all RV repair shops / service personnel are created equal. There are many, many competent folks out there. There are also a few that are mostly concerned about moving as much cash as possible from your wallet into their wallet. The challenge here is to figure out who is competent and who cannot find their bottom with both hands.

I am only going to discuss Aqua-Hot service, because that is what I am most familiar with.

Aqua-Hot has a well established, formal service network. Their service locator is on their website here: Aqua-Hot Service Locator

The Authorized Service Centers that are listed have trained personnel, have a replacement parts inventory and have worked on many Aqua-Hot units.

If you want to test a service person knowledge of the Aqua-Hot system, ask the person to explain how the Hydro-Hot / Aqua-Hot Model 450 hot water heating system works (I think you have some first hand knowledge of this). If the person is not able to explain, then they sure won’t be able to troubleshoot and diagnose the problem.

There is an explanation of how the hot water heating system works on my Forum (requires sign up / registration) that you can reach by following the link below to my main website.

Repair update

Entegra had a new pump shipped direct from Aqua-Hot. I received it and got it installed but lost fluid during the process, didn't have hose block off clamps. Had a gallon of my own fluid and refilled the system. Needed to use the air release fitting on the tank top to allow fill and purge air. Got enough in the tank to restart the system. Seems to be operating fine now although I am low on fluid. Entegra is sending more fluid to me now. Didn't have to leave my site and all is well. Thanks Entegra and everyone for their help and replies. End of my story!
