You say that it fills the reservoir when you turn on the water supply. What water supply are you turning on? The liquid in the AquaHot reservoir is boiler fluid and is not connected at all to the residential fresh water system. I am not aware of any water feed that is connected to the AquaHot system. What do you have .... ? The 450D diesel unit, the LP unit, what model and year of coach do you have?

You aren’t by chance in an area where you are experiencing freezing temperatures?

Sullie, welcome to the forum, it is a great place to receive help and information. However we need a little help to be able the help you. You do not have a profile with year and model of your coach, they are all different.

A little better explanation of what water supply to the Aqua Hot are you referring to, the city water? Is the reservoir overflowing?

I agree with the others, we need more info to help........but....
if your saying when you turn fresh water on to the coach, the aqua hot over flows the reservoir , the you have a burned out(pin hole) in your heat exchanger (coil)in the aqua hot.

its the only place I can think of where the water and aqua hot anti freeze are close to one another, and water pressure is higher than AH, causing feed back...or back flow.

in my post above, my assumption when you say Reservoir is that you are talking about the overflow container that is usually located just above the AquaHot unit mounted on the wall. There is no normal connection between the AH reservoir or AquaHot boiler fluid and fresh city water unless like someone else said, you have a leak which is definitely not normal!

It occurred to me later that you might be talking about the fresh water tank when you use the word "reservoir". There is a connection between the city water hose and the freshwater tank, and if you overfill the freshwater tank, on my classic 2015 and I think on newer coaches, there is an overflow pipe on the passenger side near the drive tires, and if you overfill the fresh water tank, water will definitely overflow onto the ground.

If you want to create a "signature" that contains model and year and name etc, go to the UserCP button on the top left of this page and then scroll down to find the signature section and you can create anything that you want to enter.

Still wondering if you have recently been in freezing temps with your burner turned off? We have been below freezing here every night for the last 3 weeks and therefore have kept the burner going to keep the system heated to protect the fresh water loop in the aqua hot. Failure to do this can cause the fresh water loop to split from freezing. If this has happened, what you are experiencing would be expected. Hope this isn’t the case as it’s an expensive fix.

I have also had an issue with my Aquahot 450D, but it now with the service dept getting an annual maintenance repair (burner & filter). Our burner light kept going out and it was getting so bad at the end, that we couldn’t even shower. We are on our RV 10 months a year, so the annual checkup might turn into a semi annual .

Sounds like you might have a cracked coil. If that’s the case might be pretty expensive to fix. Please let us know what you find to be the problem.

If the boiler is filling with water when you turn on water then you have a broken water coil “inside” the tank ( since you appear to have a Entegra late model?) if that’s the case the tank is toast and needs to be replaced. I just had my older outside the boiler coil tank replaced .at almost 8 grand .. a new unit will be 14 or so. As others have asked .. did you let it freeze? Freezing the water inside the coils by not filling with RV anti freeze or keeping “on” is the most common big time error people make. Have you checked for a line leading in leaking ? That would be good news!

Another reason coil break is if you run bleach through your aqua hot.
