Depending on the cost and the age of the unit, this could either be a good option for very old units, or a costly and largely unnecessary waste of money.
My advice is to find a really knowledgeable AquaHot service tech. If you are anywhere near any of these people, I would have them thoroughly inspect your system and recommend what needs to be done.
a.) Llyod DeGerald
b.) Roger Berke
c.) John Carrillo
All of them have web pages, and also have private service companies. Lloyd and John travel the country servicing the product.
A competent service professional could tell you in 10 minutes what your units problems are and what needs replaced. I would predict that you can get your unit "renewed" much cheaper by a really good service guy. Alternately, just taking it to some RV service company and taking your chances on the technical level of the "tech" you find there would, to me, be a likely waste of money.
