Aquahot

So I have read most of the threads about Aquahot issues and I'm not a big fan of the company. One of the reasons we purchased a first ever "new" coach was because of the Aquahot. Now, not so much. Like most of you that have 2014 and 2015's I have had to change my share of pumps. There is no service available near me so I had to do all the work myself. Here is my current issue. If my coach sits without us using the gas heat more than a few weeks zone three will blow cold air. At this point the only way I know to fix it is to take the lid off the burner unit and using a long metal rod and a hammer strike the valve that is at the lower left hand rear corner of the burner box and attached to the pump on the right side of the box with a hose. Today I checked the zone three heat and it was blowing cold. It has only been four weeks since it was heating correctly. I could hear the pump freewheeling and with one tap of the hammer and metal rod on the valve the pump sound changed to a loaded up sound and now I have heat again in zone three! There must be a better way? I'm listening............

Looks like you will have to learn how to change the valve that you have to bang on. Is it easily accessible? I'm in the same boat as you in that there aren't any Aquahot shops near our home and I have learned a lot because I had to change the 3 pumps, including hose upgrades, cleaned the burner, changed a switch, and a few other things. I would call Aquahot and order a new valve to replace the one that isn't working properly.

I was told by Aquahot that this is normal if the unit is not used often enough. I have no idea how to get to the valve to replace it. Obviously it can be done.

Doug, try Youtube. Some of those people put a video out of everything. It is amazing what I have found there to do repairs.

Doug

So this company should be selling their products to the full timers only? If they really believe their product must be used "often", that is like the response Workhorse was using about the infamous Bosch Brake calipers before they were forced to issue a fleet-wide recall to replace the defective design that was the root cause of the problem.

Changing this check valve may not solve your problem. Roger Berke has a replacement check valve that is coated to prevent the valve from sticking. A little more expensive but it may just solve your problem.

Doug, I think you posted this on the wrong post. That would make sense why the slide has been rubbing bad. How hard will it be to get to the bearing?

Wow I opened the wrong thread. It will not be that hard but how much weight is on the whole assembly? I have to remove the weight before I can remove the pillow block assembly (sort of looks like a pillow block)
