Aquahot leak at connections
My fittings into and out of the top of the Aquahot unit are leaking. Has anyone tried to tighten them? I am concerned that I might break something trying to fix it. Has anyone had success stopping a leak like this???
Thanks.
Pete

Are you referring to the clear hose coming out of the fluid tank to the AH unit? If so, go to Lowe's and get a section of the 5/8 in clear braided hose, it's sold by the foot in the plumbing section. The factory installed hose is junk and even they recommend to change it on the first annual service. It is not designed for use with heat. it cracks and splits under the clamps.

Pete,
I have a 450D and had a problem with the brass outlet fitting on top leaking if that is what you are talking about. I torqued it down. That was 2 years ago. No more leaking since.
Ron.

If my memory is incorrect, remove the hose and measure it before purchasing. Almost sure that is what I replaced mine with.

Chuck,
You are correct. See parts manual on AH site.

I replaced mine last year with silicone heater hose from JEGS P/N 231-20442 and a couple #10 constant torque hose clamps. No more leak problem.
