Aquahot LP usage
Aspire owners I am asking for real time LP usage? We are looking very close at Aspire Anthem differences plan on going south for winters so not subzero usage. Thank you
Saw Aspire in person yesterday entegra makes a extremely nice coach. Someone was really thinking on most ways to simply make it better for buyer and great quality.

Either choice, Aspire or Anthem, is a great coach. With the LP, like anything else, it depends how long you will be in cool temps. For us, our LP last a long time but we are not in cold weather for more than a day or two while traveling South.
If you are only using the LP for cooking, it will last all year. We left with a full tank of LP and returned with a full tank of LP during all of our summer travels. We used LP primarily for cooking and an occasional aqua hot use.

We've been in ours full time since the end of July and I'm convinced it makes propane. We cook every meal and for the last 3 weeks or so have been rocking the aquahot furnace at night. The coach warms up nice during the day in the sun. We show 2/3 full at the moment.

We lived on our 2012 Aspire for 15 months while we looked for land to build a house. We were in Kerrville, Tx (Buckhorn Lake Resort) during one of their coldest winters, and only had to fill up the propane once. That included heating, cooking and grilling (since we have the external gas connection for the grill). So, I'd say it is pretty efficient.
We absolutely love our Aspire DEQ floor plan, and am looking forward to getting back on it!!

We spend from Late October to early April in Palm Springs and use about a tank of propane in our 2013 Aspire

Bhayduk- congrats on your first post and welcome to iRV2!
Now I have a question, is there a max usable gallons on the LP tanks?
Brochure says 50 gallons, how much of that is truly usable for those that have gone through extended cold temps using the AH and not relying on shore power all the time?

Tom,
If it is like all other propane tanks it should be 80% of volume, so the usable gallons (according to the brochure number) should be 40 gal. That is also assuming it does not get too cold to impede the flow once it gets down to the last few gal. of propane.

Don and Gerri; thanks. Not to high jack the OP but seemed like a question to be asked.
How much LP would one expect to use if temps consistently got down into the thirties or forties at night? I see what is published but curious if owners find it to be reality for real world dry camping.

LP usage is low.....definitely not a problem. LP doesn't stink up your neighbor's campsite, either.

Lived in ours from December to April in weather that dropped into the 20's at night a few times. I like it warm, take long, hot showers, and cook most days. Went through about a tank and a half total usage although I did fill twice that year. We were lucky enough to find a gas provider who came to the campground.

Thanks guys;
That's good to know...
As much as an all electric coach would be nice (along with some the other benny's of an Anthem or CS), the LP does not bother me. And as you've both mentioned, that $$ difference buys a lot of diesel fuel.

So if I understand this correctly the electric heating element is keeping up with water usage down south in warmer weather

Hi There,
We are very proud owners of a 2014 Aspire 44B - love it!! Reality for us with the Propane Usage? Quite a bit right now. We live in Southern Ontario - Canada fulltime in the coach. Temps have been 30 - 40 F lately. We do all of our cooking with the propane. AH burner is on at all times - very nice and toasty in the coach! In the last few months, we have averaged a full tank per month. We don't really consider this overly expensive for heat in very cold temps - We haven't seen the REALLy cold temps yet. Going South for the Winter at the end of December and will of course use less propane at that time.
