I can see no LED's on the receivers. I did measure the voltage coming into the junction box, and it was 120v, but I couldn't find any location for LEDs on the receivers.

Thanks

Make sure the key is not on. There is a safety cutoff so the awnings do not come out while traveling

Now it's getting goofy.

I cycled the ignition and then turned if off. The front awning extended, but the rear awning would not. Now the front awning will not retract and the rear one will not extend.

Don't ya love gremlins ?

Your 1/2 way there, at least it is getting narrowed down. Reboot the chassis 12v with the cut off switch back at the chassis batteries.

One step forward, two back:

Now the front awning is out and I can't retract it and the rear awning responds to nothing.

I did reset the chassis batteries and no joy again......

Right now, I have tin foil wrapped around my head and I changed my frequency, but that's not working either

I can only extend and retract the front awning if I cycle the ignition button.

Rear awning does nothing either way,

Wondering if there's a lot of UFO activity this weekend..... Just sayin'

Which model of the Girards do you have? Vision? Sounds like something intermittent with the ign lockout, or as suggested, with the RF (wireless) programming, or even the integrity of the RF.

On your 2019 do you have Vegatouch and is it capable of controlling those awnings?

So if an awning is extended and you turn on the ignition does it retract?

The Girard website was down when I just tried it but here's some info on the various control products they have used over the years. You won't have all of them but you will have some.

I may be wrong but I think all awning control commands ultimately are sent wirelessly. Did you install any new wireless devices on board recently that might be interfering?

Have you tried calling Girard for help?

Thanks for the suggestion(s).
No, I do not have the Vega Touch for control. I have the Cabinet mounted wireless controller and a hand held controller.

The problem seems to be associated with the ignition safety. If I cycle the keyless ignition button, the front awning will work correctly (for now), but the rear awning does not.

I have not called Girard due to it being a holiday weekend and I thought I might get good information here. They are next on the list.

Hey......could be worse....could be another DEF head failure

Because the tie to the ignition seems to have an effect on the operation I would say to start with that circuit first. The picture that brobox put in the thread shows 2 electrical boxes with both white wires and black low voltage loom, the low voltage loom is the dc wires coming from the chassis key ign. Circuit. If you open those boxes there should be a little relay board that is activated by those 2 wires. Keep in mind one side is 110vac and live all the time, meaning if you touch them your not going to like it. I would shut off the main awning power first at the breaker, open the two boxes and have someone cycle the ignition on and off a few times to see if the relays are “clicking”, if you have a meter that’s even better but you will have to check continuity with them shut off or AC voltage with the breaker on. If they are clicking correctly check the Ac connections inside the box, if not I would jump the input and output together to test operation of the awning itself and shut off the breaker for travel to you get to a place to have someone dig into the chassis ign. Circuit.

Ours did the same exact thing, it was the batteries that needed replaced above the door. I know you just changed them but I would try that again.

I did change them again. After cycling the ignition button several times, I did get the front awning to work, but ONLY with the remote in the cabinet above the entry door. The rear awning does not work at all. Neither one works with the hand held remote (with new batteries).

Thanks...

Remember that the controller above the door is nothing more than a remote that is mounted to the wall. It has 2 batteries. I don't know if it's one for each awning or needs both to operate.

Later...
