ATT Mobley and Verizon MIFI

Well kids, I am happy to report that both my Verizon MIFI cell-based router and my ATT Mobley cell-based router continue to function normally even though there is every reason for tens of thousands of people with cars, house alarm systems are purportedly now realizing that their on-line systems have been made useless by Verizon's decision to drop all 3G connectivity from their system nationwide.

Yippee for my stuff

Everything continues to work.... ATT will be an issue for the Mobley at the end of the year.... according to reports.

AT&T turned off 3G on O2-22-22. https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1324171/
The Mobley's are of 4 LTE and are working fine. I have connect to the MH with Mobiley wifi on the Nubula app every morning checking power.
Some older Mobily units may be fazed out, easy fix is to update to a Netgrear Nighthawk hotspot that is 4G and 5G. The Mobily sims card works perfect

Yep.... it was a great relief to discover that my ATT Mobley was still "humming" just fine the past couple of days -- The night hawks have been in short supply or simply unavailable for several months.

Don't get too excited yet. ATT has said that it is going to take them some time to totally shut 3g down, doing it cell site by cell site. As of Tuesday they said they still had 1% of customers using 3G. ATT did a deal with T-Mobile that would allow some units to start roaming on T-Mobile until July 1, 2022. Not all 3G units are able to roam.

The seller many of us purchased from still has them in stock with a 100% guarantee. Mine looks and preforms as brand new. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264206751210

At the top of that listing, it clearly states that that item is "out of stock" and there is no "order now" button.

There are other sellers.

ATT is gone as of 2/22/22. Verizon is going away 12/31/22.

Sorry, I pulled the link up from my purchase history, it did not show as out of stock.
Talk was going around last year that some originally Mobliey units "may" become obsolete. Just like the Mobiley at $20 a month, they went quick so I purchased one a year ago.
Come to find out if the later Mobiley units that are LTE they will continue to work, but mine was really getting slow and needed updating anyhow.

That was what I was saying in my first post... my Mobley must be a later unit as it is still playing just fine. We shall see as we go forward. There was a report that it is NOT completely gone (3G)?

I am hoping my Mobley is going to stay functional for a few more years.

To be sure and to really speed up the wifi connection the Nighthawk is all the difference in the world. I paid $125. for mine and well worth it. Nighthawks last time I look were plentiful from those switching to 5G units.

Also being able to plug an external antenna into the Nighthawk is another big plus.

Not mine. I tried to switch my SIM to a Netgear router and it locked the SIM. I phoned and got the PUK codes and they did not work. The SIM stayed locked. They send me to the ATT store for a new SIM card and so far that does not work either.

I remember seeing your post when many of us were switching over. I am sorry yours didn't work. Out of curiosity, might it have been one of the early Mobiley units that was 3G? That is strange that so many were able to use the PUK codes, but yours was not.

Agree on the antenna. I found a good permanent spot on my coach to mount both my M1100 and antenna's (two) Big improvement. I'll wait for 5G to get established before upgrading, but as you said it's plug and play. Just move the sims.

Bruce, where did you setting on the permanent spot for the antennas?
Looking on eBay, the Nighthawks have doubled since we purchased ours. I am guessing a lot of the original Mobiley units were 3G and they did have to upgrade. Good thing we moved forward when we did. Once in a while an internet rumor pays off.
