Auto Gen Start Question
Energy command 30 version 2.1. I was using the AGS for the first time yesterday and when I cycle it to come on it does and runs, but it goes to manual on the screen when it comes on. Is this normal or do I need a update?

I turned the command 30 to auto.
Turned the ac unit on.
Unplugged the 50 amp cord.
The gen. came on.
The command 30 said manual on it.

I believe when it reverts back to manual it means you need the update...
Mine did this and the update cured it...

Having the same problem with our 2013 had the Entegra tech's check it at the Super Show two years ago. Was told the early 13's were not designed to back to auto after one cycle, and could not be made to do so.

Wow, I will check mine this weekend. I did not notice that?
Has your had the sense wire modification done on it, or did it come wired correctly? Seems like the last 2 pins on the plug should have wires going to the plug in the back of the Magnum controller. If not, that could be a cause - will let you know what I find.

That's total BS...and I'll call them on it. Our 2013 cycled repeatedly on auto. You can ask the neighbor at the campground when we unplugged the coach and went on a cruise - but forgot to turn off the air. Fortunately it was during the rainy season because we burned every bit of grass under the gen exhaust pipe. BTW - we bought our 2013 in July, 2012 and the auto gen start was not standard - Entegra installed it for us at our first factory visit (they still did stuff like that then). Before that became standard equipment, there were a lot of posts about installing a "doorbell switch" to get the auto gen start to work.

On our 2013 Anthem we had to install the doorbell transformer and add a new breaker designated just for the auto start feature

OP if you haven't already you may want to go thru and perform the "Setup and Testing" procedure in the Command 30 manual. It's possible something is configured or wired incorrectly and hopefully you can isolate it by going thru the steps.
In regard to the "doorbell" mod, that was to add shore power sensing. Without shore power sense your generator will start up if the Command 30 is in auto and the thermostat calls for an AC unit to come on, EVEN IF you are plugged into shore power. The fix for that was to add a low voltage bell transformer to the Transfer Switch and wire it to the sense inputs on the Command 30. This is a different issue than what you described, but something to be aware of. Your 2013 most likely does not have shore power sense from the factory.

I called Onan at this number 574-262-4611. They handle the EC30. They said that I needed to send them the EC30 for new programing. I do have the door bell device (pic below) hooked to the sense wires. I will post when I get it back from them.

I have version 2.10 on mine (13 Aspire). When I called Grover, this was the latest version he had at that time. Looking forward to your post and what version they have, and what it fixes or updates. I will test mine tomorrow morning to see if it remains in Auto Mode after a cycle.

Yeah let us know, I'm curious. On my 2013 I never upgraded the EC30 and did not experience the problem you described. I don't recall what version it was.
For the 120 to 12v module in your photo, do you know where that connects to the AC source?
