Awning Issue

2011 Entegra Aspire, when I extend the awning it gets to the end and then automatically retracts. Only way to keep it ouy is to turn the off switch off when it is fully extended. Any ideas?

Which Awing is on the 11 Aspire (Carefree?) Is there a Sensitive Wind Switch above the door?

Mine has 3 settings for the sensitivity Low, Medium and High - sounds like if you have this type of awning and control, the sensor could be an issue? Just a guess.

Do you stay on the switch while awning is deploying?.........If you stay on it long enough, are you sure it's not rolling up inside out?

What does that mean rolling up inside out? I did in fact hold the button down to long the first time thinking it was like my old fifth wheel.

Yes it does have the wind sensor on it.

Does the awning unroll the material off the bottom side of roller or the top?......Some material stretches enough to let that happen....

Well I checked and the awning is NOT rolling back in the wrong direction. If I turn the wind sensor off when the awning is extended it stays there. I can then turn the sensor on/off switch back on and it doesnt move. Certainly acts like the wind sensor may be bad. Thoughts?

If you turn the wind sensor off does the awning stay out, in other words work properly?

If so I'd just leave it off. I went years with my old Alegro Bus with no sensor. You just become the wind sensor, so to speak. Roll it in if it gets too gusty, when you leave, and at night.

For Carefree, here's the service manual. Go to page 17 to test the sensor.
Uploading the manual didn't work. Ugh

You can probably download it from Carefree...it's called.

Hope it helps.
Cheers

If you were holding the deploy switch down while the awning was rolling out, when it got to the end, it most likely rolled back up if the switch was held. I push and release my switch one time and it deploys, and retract one time, and it rolls up.

Not sure where my wind sensor is set when I let it out, but it does not automatically retract. I don't know the difference in Low, Medium, and High as I have tried them all, and the awning seems to retract with little bounce from a gust of wind. At least mine has not been damaged by the wind so far.
