Bob, if I understood your other post, you are near Arlington this week.
If so, I'd suggest NIRVC in Lewisville. They did ours.

That's odd I was there April 11 and asked Johnnie about the ball joints and he said they didn't have any info from Spartan on this. What date were you there?

I think Bob was referring to a place in Egypt that is like in the middle of nowhere West Texas in his post.

Don't take the recall lightly, we were in Middlebury last week for our two year repair list! Three coaches were sent to cummins last Thursday for the inspection and repair of the ball joints. The first coach,a 16 Anthem only needed the bolts checked for torque and was done in 30 minutes. The second coach,a 16 Cornerstone had severe damage that required new ball joints as well as new bolts. Our 15 Cornerstone required replacement of all bolts before they were torqued. We also need new front shocks. You can visually inspect to at least confirm if it is good to go!

My Anthem is at JoSams at the moment and Spartan said they do not have the special tool for the recall. I will need to take my coach to Cummins in Orlando who has this special tool from Spartan. This was disappointing as my front end was being serviced at Josams and it would be nice to have everything done at the same place.

Update from JoSams, they have the tool and have done several recalls...Seems Spartan needs to update their records. I am now praying that they will authorize my recall notice for Josams to do the work while it is parked at their facility, not drive back and forth through Orlando.

Just tried to call Spartan to find out who had the "Special Tool" in FL. The lines at Spartan recall, ext 0 are so busy a recording came on and said "we can no longer take any calls, leave a message" and went blank. It would be nice if they had a page on their web site with the listed shops that have purchased or been given the tool. The only thing I could find on the web site that Coach Care Facilities are full Service Spartan.

So, maybe some do but some don't also!!

I got the same recording this morning and left a message. No call back. I'll keep trying. Meanwhile, I think I'll get dirty and crawl under the bus and do my chassis lube a little early and also take the opportunity to see if I can shake anything loose.

They must be swamped; no recall from my left message with Spartan today. According to my recall letter it is a little more than just a feeler gauge and play check. A disassemble, inspection, and re-torque is required. An all day/overnight affair I'm sure.
Oh the joys of 'home on wheels' ownership. I still wouldn't trade it for anything![emoji4][emoji106]

Ball Joint Recall
I don't think they automatically disassemble. Don't know the details of the procedure but Reyco Granning techs did mine in Middlebury a couple of weeks ago and reported to the Entegra Service Advisor something to the effect of "all good, no repair needed".

FWIW when I called Spartan early Monday morning they advised me that the only dealer close to me with the tool is a Freightliner shop in Mt. Vernon, WA about 4 hours from my house. I emailed Beaver in Bend, Oregon and they replied they were not equipped to do the recall. The Freightliner shop is a Cummins/Spartan shop at least according to Google. Accordingly, if you reside in WA a trip to Mt. Vernon may be in the cards. Spokane might be closer so I'll check on them tomorrow. I know Cummins NW has a Coach Care facility there.

FWIW, when I talked with Spartan CS a couple weeks ago (before they started sending the tool out) that they had only seen a couple of cases where the ball joint was loose (or whatever the recall is over). That said, the wear of ball joints is a little concerning and makes me wonder if there is another culprit going on. Just saying'...
