Basement doors problem

Hello, donít post often but truly appreciate all the knowledge that is shared with us.
I searched basement door problems and all I could find was missing or twisted off screws which Iíve had many as well.
I noticed that when closing a door, there is a small bind just before it latches. Any bind is indicative of some problem. I used my flash light to look along top of door when it almost closes. What I saw was the gas cylinder is mounted just low enough that it hits the door causing the bind. After looking closely I could see paint scratched of about 3 inches of cylinder and small dent on top edge of door where the cylinder hits. Each of my doors do the same thing.
In an attempt to rectify, I ordered the new style hinge which has a stop on it, unlike the originals. This fixed the problem but would prefer the gas cylinder.
Wondered if anyone else has experienced this? It would be a chore to replace all the hinges or to try to reposition the cylinders.
The danger of not having the cylinder and just a stop on new hinges is a wind situation catching the open door.
This is on a 2018 Anthem 44B.
Again thanks so much to all of you that share your knowledge with us.
