Basement freezer?

I have always removed and sold the fridge/freezer that is in the basement when we get a new coach. Our Cornerstone came with one and I keep thinking I am missing something but we just don't see a need for it.

Do most of you guys use yours? Enquiring minds want to know

We also use it as a cooler.... never had it cranked down as a freezer. In the cooler goes beer (I have a tradition of having a ceremonial Irish red beer of some sort or something dark), when the coach is connected to power and all the slides are deployed and housekeeping has been established). In addition to beer, there is coke and soft drinks, some foods that need chilled but cant fit in the refrig, etc. Ours is full all the time with something and would not be without it.

I never used mine because my front axle was overweight and so I couldn't add any more weight there. I tried to sell it but got no takers. It is sitting in the back room of the S&B as I use the pull-out tray in the RV for my smoker. That said, when stocking up for COVID-19 I got the bright idea of plugging it in and using it for extra frozen storage. Turns out it doesn't work. So, I paid for something, never could use it because of a design defect, and now it is out of warranty and does not work. And I cannot find anyone who is willing to try to repair it. Some days you just wanna give up.

Now that makes sense. Also gives you redundancy.

So far it seems most everyone puts them to good use. Question, are they being used because the inside fridge is full or is it out of convenience not having to go inside for a beverage?

My wife cooks a lot and cooks various types of food, so our refrigerators is usually quite full, and in our 70s, we have an amazing array of meds that need to be kept refrigerated. There is a moderate supply of soft drinks and beer and juices in the in-coach refer, and the basement refer is used for overflow and extra stuff.

We are on the road 8-10 months per year and use ours as a freezer a lot. Especially with the Coved-19 situation and we are in our mid 70s, we made a trip to H-E-B and filled it with meat. Inside freezer full of frozen veggies and assorted other foods to give us a variety without going to the store for much. We can find a slack time at the store and run in for milk, eggs and fruit and avoid most people. But we have always used it a lot, would not want to be without it.

My previous DS did not have a basement unit and Icoach all he time because they/ didn't think it was a big deal. My current MH has one. Now I can't do without it. It is used as a fridge not a freezer most of the time. If you have little ones with you they are not inside because they're thirsty.

Wouldn’t be without. For me, it saves going in RV, plus it frees up space inside. We keep mostly water and beer in it. It allows me to keep a variety of beer on hand.
