Trojans I've owned have survived well beyond ratings of the data sheet. Take a lickin and keep on tickin. Can't say the same for other brands.

For most RV house applications you're not going to be thrashing them so some of the more pedestrian brands will work pretty well and come in a bit less expensive than Trojan. US Battery and Interstate would be two to consider. One flavor of Interstate you can get at Costco quite reasonably and that's what I'm running. They're performing and holding up well. Could be argued that in my application a Trojan would work a little better and last a little longer but for the money not that much better, or longer. So decide the performance and price point you like and you should have no problem sourcing a suitable storage battery.

There are twenty or more threads on house batteries on this forum in the past year. Just scroll through the last three or four pages or search in the search box and you will find more than you have time to read.

Just replaced ours with the Sam's Club Duracell AGM's. 8 Batteries. Had to wire brush, sand and paint the tray first. Never understood why Newmar would use flooded batteries.

When switching to AGM, don't forget to change the settings on your battery charger. On our system it was "AGM 2".
