better music box??

The dash audio system is a real disappointment in our 2013 classic. Tinny, no base hard to hear. More tinny as volume is increased to hear it. So annoying I rarely turn the music on as it grates on my nerves.

Another one of those "I cannot believe this is the best they can do on a $3K vehicle. Updating to a new coach with the improved sound system is not in the picture for now.

Has anyone done any simple improvements to the system so it doesn't sound like a 1960's Japanese transistor radio? I don't want to create a boom box for competition just add some simple mods to make it wound better.

"I cannot believe this is the best they can do on a $3K vehicle."

On a $3K vehicle you are lucky to even get a Japanese transistor radio.

Pretty normal.

Some update via a stereo shop, some use a nice Bluetooth speaker on the dash. But rv stereos are notoriously crummy on the speaker side.

I had my local stereo shop install I believe is a small 6 inch sub that sits behind
the driver side seat. its screwed on over the vin# sticker thats on the wall.
its alpine brand and has a adjustment knob for bass adjustment ran to where I can adjust it while driving if needed. I also felt the cab stereo was just flat with no bass. this was a nice little improvement and definitely livened it up...

Al, in 2014 there were many complaining of the same thing. There was few post of speaker changes, some changed to Kenwood systems. Might try looking for those old post. Many of those Classic coach owners are no longer on the forum.

My 15 Anthem came from the factory with audio the exact opposite of your problem...... even at low volume, I had what sounded like a 100 watt pair of 24" inch bass woofers..... it was nuts! So much base. I worked with the unit, the power amplifier, and the woofer down in the cabinet. Nothing helped!!

I had to go back to Middlebury earlier than 2 years and complained about it and was told there are other controls on the back of the amplifier and the amplifier must be removed from the wall to get to them (Who the Hell would mount something with controls that cannot be accessed by the user????).

I can't prove that was the solution but it works as it should now. I don't listen to music when I'm driving so we use the iPod only while in an RV park

On our last two coaches (different mfg) we purchased a new system for the dash. However, for this coach, we just hook up our Ipod to the sound bar on the main TV. You can adjust the volume with a remote that the passenger can use. Solved the problem as the sound bar does sound fairly good.

The stock radio speakers on the '13s are junk and sound awful. I changed mine to a larger and better set of 6 1/2" Infinity speakers. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-xsNIre...pa-62-11i.html

It required a little bit of cutting and fitting to make space to mount them. The new speakers sound great and have full presence including very adequate bass. See photo.
