Big Slide gear bearings broken again

We seem to be having our share of the big slide issues on driver side that has the refrigerator and pantry. We just had the gear and bearings fixed April 1 of this year and now again they broke last night. We pulled into a state park and upon extending the drivers side front slide, it dropped down with a loud bang and tore up the gear bearings again.

Has anyone else been having this issue? Seems there should be more rails on the big slide that houses the refrigerator and pantry. Our 2yr appointment isn’t until October 1st. We will have to keep the slide in During our next three stops to ensure we don’t have an issue with it not coming in.

Mine failed on delivery. I drove it home that way and had it fixed by a local, approved warranty shop. My mechanic warned me thatit may fail again. He feels it's a weak design. Just his $.02

We had the bearings fail within the first 6 months on a 2018 Aspire. Last month while at the Mothership and touring the factory I noticed they are now installing the bearing assembly so it is eaiser to replace. If mine go again, which I think they will, I will replace with a higher grade bearing. The tin bearings Entegra use's cant hold up the weight of the slides. FWIW

I think they need to come up with a different mechanism
That is heavy duty and three or four rails instead of two. Our repaired one lasted 4 1/2 months, and not sure the first one was failing a few months after purchase since our refrigerator door on the right side never opened but half way as it caught on the molding above with slide out and it struggled extending and retracting. It stinks to have to live in it for the next 6 weeks closed but at least we can still maneuver in the coach and do everything without too much difficulty. I just want it fixed properly and to last years!

I think it is the same design it has always been. Our 2012 has cycled slides hundreds of times and the two problems we've had are
1: our big slide bracket kept stripping the wood bolts. (See my permanent fix here: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/livi...ix-453063.html)

2: our kitchen slide out has started to elongate the holes in the rear pusher arm where it pulled in. We have an appointment with the mother ship in November to address that one.

Not sure why yours would be causing such an issue if it is the same design.

Maybe they changed suppliers for the cog wheels and other components. Got them a couple $$ cheaper from somewhere else?

One of the reasons I love our old DLQ. The fridge does not slide nor anything in the bathroom. Nonetheless I don’t like the big slide that drops down. It is a tremendous load when retracting to lift up and then pull in.....

Big slide problems

Thank you all for the comments. We will be anxious to see how Entegra fixes this issue. We only used slide out/in 5 times before it broke again after April repair. I don't want to have this repaired every 6 mos. We love our coach. But would hope Entegra comes up with better mechanics on this big slide with refrigerator and pantry!
