Bike Rack between RV and tow vehicle
I want to carry a single mountain bike between my RV and tow vehicle (I want it there so I can leave it attached to the RV when I am driving around in my tow vehicle). I got a roadmaster dual hitch and put my bike rack on the top slot but if I made a sharp turn the truck would hit the front or rear wheels.
I am wondering if anyone is doing this and how they are accomplishing it. Seems like I need to raise the bike hitch up higher in the air
Thanks

Hi Van--can you add a rack in the bed of your truck? We have a Jeep and just added a tire rack. I have a cover and chain the bikes at campsite. I'm going to get a "pop-up bike storage tent for better bike protection when we're stationary. Good luck.

I had to buy a different bike rack to sit above my Blue Ox on back of coach. I found it at Camping World (XC Hitch or Bumper Mount Rack
Catalog Item # 49401)...holds 2 bikes. It really protects the bikes between the RV and my Jeep and I can see the bikes in rear camera while traveling. The only downside is that I have to remove the bikes to access the engine compartment, but I do not have to remove the rack.

I like that idea--would love to see a picture of bikes on rack with tow vehicle behind.

MRUSA14, what kind of a tow bar are you using? I am using a blue ox. I am not sure I have room to attach that rack, did you ad an extension to yours to get room?
thanks

I have a Roadmaster Sterling tow bar and it works fine, should work well with your Blue Ox too. I have a drop hitch adapter, but if you don't need that I think it would work well anyhow. You need 3 inches of free space to mount the bike rack bracket on the tow bar or drop hitch shank.

I use a dual hitch reciever like this
Amazon hitch
I then use a regular 4 place bike rack. it fits quite nicely between the RV and the Toad.

Don't forget a bike(s) bag. Lot's of nice ones out there.
Bad enough cleaning the bike after rides.

Thanks for the input
Van

I use the attached with my car hitch plugged in on bottom. Bikes clear my Lincoln MKX. Bike rack in pic is folded in UP position. Tommy
