Thanks for all of the feedback. So the answer appears to be the roof unless you have some issues with your vent line, then its real bad. The roof wouldn't be good, but not as bad as having it inside...

I am considering hooking up a permanent line for the black tank rinse as I have seen some people do - then they just turn on a valve to add water to the black tank. I have been leery of that and just hook a hose up and so when the hose is not hooked up, its not possible to over fill, where if you had a permanent setup with a on/off valve, then if that valve fails, it would be bad.

So if I do this I would probably have two on/off valves, to be extra sure.

That is what I have done Van - 2 valves. I've not thought about one or both failing........something to consider.

Van:

Here is another option. It is hard to see, but there is a back flow preventer between the Y with the valves and the hose going to the black flush.

Many, including dealers and the factory, do not recommend this set up because of the potential problems our "friends" have encountered. There is not automatic shutoff.

Actually I'll flush my black tank a couple of times when I dump if I'm in a full hook-up site. I use a flow-meter on the hose ($12 at HD) and figure out the flow, almost always 2.4-2.5 GPM, then I just set the timer on my phone for 20-25 minutes, run 50 GA in there (holds 78) and give her a flush.....by the 3rd flush it comes out crystal clear and the timer keeps me from forgetting

Outside bidet? That must help keep the neighbors away. [emoji6]

I installed an inexpensive water shutoff timer in line with the tank flush. I set that to 10 or 15 minutes when flushing so if I should forget to shut off the water, the timer will shut it off.

Now there's a great idea.

This thread puzzles me. I guess I assumed all Class A motor homes had the system I have on my Tiffen Allegro 32SA. Whenever I dump the black tank I pump fresh water into the tank through the fitting provided while dumping & it sprays the water into the top of the tank to rinse it as it flushes. I usually let the fresh water run for a couple of minutes after the main flush has finished. I have been doing that for 5+ yrs with no problems & no risk of over-filling the tank. Are other Class A's not designed this way?

Asking for a friend? Yeah, right!

My brother-in-laws came out on the bathroom floor.
He was tired, hooked up hose to the black tank flush instead of the city hook-up.
When it started running out, she stepped on the pedal to flush it back down....geeezzz!
His wife started hollering at him... glad she was inside!
Dinner was a little late that evening.

Long time ago I witnessed this happen. Motorhomer three or four sites down got distracted and water spilled onto and over the roof and down the sides of his coach. Fortunately, according to him, it was the second or third flush he was on. It was an eye opener for me even tho I never walk away while flushing....
That might have been me! Got distracted while multi tasking. Fortunately, the water was reasonably clean at that point. Only overflowed out the vent for a few minutes before my wife climbed the ladder to see where the water was comming from. I now use a timer EVERY TIME. Just glad my wife did not flush the toilet while this was going on......I would probably be single now

I finally found the discipline to sit on a stool and play a game on the phone while rinsing/emptying.

We had an overflow from the sink on the third or fourth rinse so it was pretty clean. DW ran down the aisle and slipped. Pretty bad fall and not a good evening - or week for that matter. All my fault but then things usually are.

45B definitely drains through the sink to the black tank.
