Blind Spot Monitor repair at NIRVC Atlanta
Sorry for long post just frustrating with this bsm system
So drove from PA to NIRVC in Atlanta mainly to get this blind spot monitor system fixed since I have the dreaded 3 blink going since I bought it. Another issue was step wind noise over 60 mph amongst other issues. Previous owner for some asinine reason was too lazy to get it fixed as it was doing it since he bought it and didn’t bother him. While there I had them do the annual service, fix step air leak which they made worse with their repair by adding seal to door now sounds like a jet plane inside going down the road. After waiting for months for them to receive a special computer to diagnose this problem with blind spot Woo tells me it’s covered under warranty since there was a tsb even though I am out of Entegra warranty. Mind you I could not get service before warranty expiration due to COVID lockdowns and nobody having this special computer to diagnose. Supposedly I’m told there are only two computers that get passed around to the dealers from the manufacturer of the blind spot system. I get a call from Woo my advisor tonight at NIRVC saying Jayco denied the claim and they told him I should have got it done 2 years ago and I must pay $2,100 to rewire the system and replace sensor. All the good I heard about Entegra they just blew it not fixing this when it’s a common issue especially with an active tsb. Can I pull the fuse and forget about it without causing other issues? They’re saying I can’t disable the blind spot system as it’s connected to other features. If I can pull the fuse does anyone know where it is? I saw a few posts where they were pulled on cornerstones but did not see any on an anthem. They’re telling me my left rear sensor is bad which probably got water in it and that it can happen again so I feel there is no reason to pay that kind of money to fix it if I can pull the fuse. Any input appreciated on disabling the system.

First thing I’d do is call Joyce Skinner, director customer service. I don’t know the details, but that system has been a problem and I think it warrants a call to her.

Hi Joe,
Pretty gutsy move, calling Joyce on Thanksgiving for something like that, don't you think?
Take care,
Stu

Joe, regarding pulling the appropriate fuse, here is a link to a post with some photos that should be helpful:

I personally would not bother getting the blind spot monitors fixed. I have never once said gee, those things are really helpful! I would just pull the fuse and move on!

I have an appoint for Feb 3 at NIRVC in Phoenix to fix mine the 3 flash problem and i pulled the fuse last trip out, I didn't really care much for the Blind spot thing till i didn't have it. I like to travel at night most of the time, Found out its very handy at night for lane chances and i miss it, seems its a common problem maybe soon they will find out why the failure
Happy Thanks Giving to all the Entegra family

I really don’t care to have the blind spot, I just can’t take that blinking all the time especially at night. I’ve been fine without the system as I don’t even use it even though my Range Rover is equipped with it. It gets under my skin the service tech said they can’t disable it when obviously some of you know first hand you very well could. Thank you all for the input, I’m excited to have no more blinking in my line of sight!

In defense of the service tech, they work on every brand of MH and have to know a lot. We work on one brand of MH and we share ideas, I didn't know where that fuse was until I used the search function. There could be other brands of MH that the BSM is not able to be deactivated without disabling something else. It's hard to know every small item on every brand of MH without help of a groups like this.
I keep a 10 inch tablet at the MH just to be able to look things like this up and be able to see the photos on larger screen when I am working on the MH.
There are also some great posts here about eliminating the wind noises. Many of us have found tricks dealers didn't know about. Hope the repairs go well.

The blind spot monitor system is largely a pain in the butt even if it is working well. It does not show me things that I can't see in the bottom convex mirror. My advice is to simply pull the fuse out as shown in the link that Larry posted and forget about it. I did and ran the 1,000 miles up to Spartan and Entegra for my 2 year PDI/AIR. I think they put the fuse back in in Middlebury and even though it was one of my requested fixes, my guess is that it works no better now than it did before visiting Entegra so I am willing to try it again going home, but anticipate that I will pull the fuse when I get home as it will again contribute nothing to my job driving this coach.
I will not reveal who my source is, but this person is very high up in the Entegra technical area, and he confided in me when I complained that the blind spot system was meaningless junk to me, this person said, "Well, if we could get it to do what it is supposed to do that would be really nice, but we can't get it to work right" or words to that effect. So, my opinion is that it is worthless junk. Get used to always looking at your bottom mirror of the two front mirrors before you look at the larger mirror in a lane-change situation and you will see everything you need to see, whether you are traveling at night or during the daylight. Get used to using your mirrors rather than a gadget!! You get all the information you need to see in the mirrors. The Blind spot monitor gives you nothing more.

Pulled fuse and no more blinking lights, thank you all so much. Those lights were driving me crazy! Amazing how we need to disable features on these expensive machines to let us enjoy them while keeping our sanity.
