Bloomfield/Navajo Dam, NM RV Parks
When my wife’s high school best friend, who lives in Farmington, NM, found out I fly fish she said her husband has fished the San Juan several times a month for many years and would go take me along anytime I wanted, any time of year. The San Juan is high on my fly fishing bucket list!
Can anyone recommend an RV park in the Farmington to Navajo Dam area?
Thanks

Not Farmington, but look at Durango, CO.

Vance, I am going to Pagosa Springs in July and staying at Wolf Creek Run RV Resort - looks like it is on the San Juan River. Don't know about fishing there, but may be worth a look. (nice place).

Mark,
Wolf Creek Run is in our short list of places to stay. Reputation is there are trout in the river that runs right past the RV resort.
Thanks

Jeff,
Durango could work. It’s 53 miles from Navajo Dam but trout don’t wake up early so….
We spent some time in Durango during our pre-motorhome days. It was a very laidback, little town in the mid-70s.
Thanks!

Try Aztec NM. Closer to your destination. I know there are RV parks nearby but no personal knowledge. PS it's all desert area.

I don't know what you are looking for in an RV park, but we spent a night at Ruins Road RV park in Aztec (about 3/4 mile from the national monument)a couple of years ago. It falls under the category of, I would stay there again, it was basically a large gravel parking lot, with a some long term RV's (maybe 25-30% long term RV's), was on the river with ability to walk across a small foot bridge to an island on the river. As I recall they had fairly good wifi, otherwise no frills RV park at a fair price.
