BlueFire System

What do I need to order from BlueFire to install the system in our 2017 Cornerstone. There are a number of options that I want to get right the first time. Thanks

If you want to be able to use it with either android/apple or windows I would suggest this one: You have a J1939 - 9 pin OBD port by your left foot in the drivers seat.

I ordered the 9 pin BlueFire. I got mine from Amazon.
It works great. I play around with it while my wife drives. You can certainly see some information that is not displayed anywhere on your dash. (2017 non digital dash)

I use mine on my ipad. The larger screen makes everything readable.

Bluefire plug

Hello everyone,

When I look under my dash I find a 3 pin triangular plug that is labeled j1939. Is there another plug?

Gary

You're looking for a 9 pin round plug. Green cap over it

Found it, thank you for the picture. Definately helped to know what I was looking for lol. it is certainly well hidden!

Gary

EDIT: And of course there was no green cap over it. Also everytime I remove a access panel to look at something I find garbage from the original construction. Peices of carpet, flooring, scraps of wood, saw dust, etc. Very dissapointing they used access panels as a way to hide garbage

They must have moved it. Mine kind of sticks out a little when the BlueFire adapter is on it. I have to be careful not to bump it.

I don’t leave mine connected all the time. I like using it when my wife drives. It gives me something to play with on my ipad and that helps me so I don’t play side seat driver as much.

I ordered it and whoops! I notice this after ordering

"Note, this adapter comes with the non-ELD (Truck) firmware. If you want the Truck ELD firmware, please send an email to sales@bluefire-llc.com with a request for the ELD firmware after you place your order."

Do I care about this?

Gary

ELD is Electronic Logging Device and unless you driving commercially I donít see why you need that at all IMO.

Thank you for the info. Ironically I am a retired truck driver (before electronic logs) and no thank you, no logging for me lol

FYI the green cap or connector body indicates the faster bus speed (500kbps) of the J1939 CAN implemented circa 2017, your 2014 with the black connector has the original 250kbps J1939 CAN. The adapter linked previously is compatible with both.
