Brake controller question

I did a search, and found that there is wiring under the dash for the brake controller...but I couldn't verify what plug type, or if you have to hard wire it in..I know you can get vehicle specific adapter plugs...what are most of you using? And what adapter plugs works, if any?

Brake controller question

You will need to hard wire it the wires you need are blunt cut and are on the left side behind dash. All the wires you need for the brake controller are there. The signal wire from the brake light switch, 12 volt power for the controller, 10 or 12 gauge blue wire going back to the trailer plug rear of coach and a ground wire.

Everything at the rear trailer plug (the seven pin RV plug) is pre wired lights and all.

Brake controller question

Jeffnjen

Color code for wires from Spartan's schematics.

Pink 12 volt power 10 gauge.

Red signal wire from brake switch 16 gauge.

Blue to trailer plug 10 gauge.

Black ground 12 gauge.

Please verify these.

The power for the controller comes from the front PDC in outside compartment under driver's seat with 30 amp fuse. Fuse should already be in place.

Let us know how this goes.

jeffnjen-

When you found the wiring, was it terminated on a plug? Just curious- many folks ask similar questions, and some coaches have been supplied with plug-terminated wiring for years now.

Also, here's a link to a Google search of iRV2 posts for the terms "Cornerstone" and "brake controller." Of the first three hits, this thread may apply to your coach.

etrailer sent a link about this controller...looks like a good deal, especially if you're like me and invariably hit the controller mounted down below the steering wheel. With this remote switch you can mount it so that it's easy to glance at it or hit manual.
