Broke Pocket Door - 2015 Anthem 42RBQ
Has anyone had issues with the pocket doors? The bathroom pocket door in our brand new coach (3 months old) broke yesterday morning. We were camping and DW opened the door, slid it back into the door frame at which time the back portion of the door fell to the floor. After closer inspection, the top screw is completely out of the door. We were told (over the phone) that in order to fix the door, the door frame and wall paneling will need to be removed and the door re-installed. Of course, this is not something you want with a brand new RV. (Taking apart the wall/paneling on a brand new coach is more than disappointing.) Just curious of this has been an issue for others. Thank you.

Think you have a first. I do not recall ever seeing a post on a pocket door coming off the track. Sorry it had to happen to you but it is definitely not a common problem. All JMHO 🚌😀

This has been a problem with our RBQ. The original issue was a stop was needed to keep the doors from falling off in the center. Then the doors did not align with each other. You are not alone.

I also had to have the pocket doors for the closet rehung, but it was done at the dealer which was LD. I just looked at my pocket door and the door molding would have to be removed to repair the slide. Is your dealer an option? If not any trim carpenter can repair pocket doors.

The only dealer is 3 hours (one-way) from our home. We are in talks with Entegra to take it somewhere a little closer for the repair work. We are not at all thrilled about having someone dismantling the door molding and trim but unfortunately, there is no way around this fix. It must be done. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated.

I have repaired many pocket doors. I can not say for sure about yours, but I never removed the trim. I used a knife from the table settings (not sharp). Nothing is broke. What you have is a trolley with four wheels. a large head screw hangs down from the trolley. On top of the door is a catch. You slide the screw head into the catch and close a plastic lock to keep it in place. I always put a small dab of silicone sealer on the lock to keep it from happening again.

You're correct GA Traveler, there is a trolley on the top of the door. Unfortunately, the opening is way too tight for my fingers. (DW was able to feel the trolley but the opening was too tight for her fingers too.) I was only able to take a picture showing the screw while the door was on the ground. Once the door is lifted off the ground, there is no room to make the repairs. I will look closer to see if there is another solution. Thanks!

I have been remodeling house for over 30 years and have repaired a lot of pocket doors (I hate them!). On the Entegra's the door trim will have to be removed, there is no way to reach the door slides with it in place. More damage would be done to the stained trim than it's worth trying to get a tool in there.....it's not worth it. Scratching the stained wood work is not like repainting the doors of a rental if you should slip.

If you have to remove the trim use a putty knife to get it started then use a painters five and one to get it off the rest of the way. You should only have to take the trim off on the right and the top, also I would recomend putting it back on with trim screws and contact entegra for the stain color putty that matches your tim.

Yep, that's the way our Magna is too. Found that out after Cummins NW broke ours and I had to repair it since they refused to admit they did it.

A big thank you to Keith for his helpful tips and for sending pictures of the door hardware on his 2013 Aspire, and for all the others points on the forum. Although the 2015 door track is much tighter inside the door frame (than some other models) with the help of a snake camera and some teamwork (my husband and father-in-law), the door is back on track! Thanks again for the feedback and suggestions. We find this forum and the members extremely helpful!
