Buck-ees is also one of the cheapest places I have found to purchase bags of ice.

Larry, I had never stopped at a Buc-ee's until this past February while enroute to the Alabama gulf coast. My fuel plan made the Buc-ee's near Robertsdale a reasonable choice. Here's the overhead imagery of that location:
You'll note that there are two islands and, perhaps, a larger parking area than the St. Augustine location. That combination allowed for reasonably easy access for my 43' DEQ with toad attached. I don't recall the fuel price, but, it was competitive. There was no convenient TA/Petro on our route.
At that time, Cindy & I were less than two weeks following our second vaccination so we didn't capture the entire Buc-ee's experience. Something to look forward to, apparently. A fellow iRV2 contributor, whose judgement I trust, has suggested to me that Buc-ee's has some "decent breakfast sandwiches that are quite tasty". I suspect bacon as the flavor enhancer. But, I have no first-hand experience to confirm his assessment. Yet.
On our return home following our month in Florida, both the St. Augustine Buc-ee's and the T/A Jacksonville South were on our route. T/A won that decision matrix based on both guaranteed ease of access and fuel price.
Take care,
Stu

The problem with the new Buc-ees in St Augustine is that it's new - and therefore interesting to people - and therefore always busy with cars and people swarming around. The layout of the station is OK, not great, but OK. However I won't take my RV there until some of the new wears off and people stop going there JUST to go there. There are two truck stops south of St Augustine, that's where I'll go when I need fuel.

To us Buc-ee's is a destination. We always stop when we see one just for the food. The parking is always great and getting in and out of the pumps with a toad is easy, at least it is for me.

Stu, I'm with you all the way on ease of access. I don't look down on anyone who chooses to go out of his or her way to find a lower fuel price, but when we're traveling in the motorhome I'm all about stopping at a facility that is easy on & off (of whatever Interstate or other roadway we may be on) and has plenty of room to maneuver. If it's reasonably clean, has lots of fueling lanes, and a spacious parking lot, those are all bonuses.
I will readily acknowledge that fuel costs are a significant factor in the total cost of RV ownership and travel. But when I consider the impact of the DIFFERENTIAL between the cost of fuel at the major truck stops versus the lowest available cost for the same fuel if I was willing to go out of my way, the impact of that differential on my total cost of ownership isn't something I'm going to get too worked up about.
Just my two cents, with no disrespect whatsoever to those who have a differing opinion.

THis past weekend on route to Gulf Shores , the Buc-ee's was packed , it would have been difficult to find parking yet alone get gas.. I was hoping to stop and get some snacks , but too much in an out traffic and the parking lot was full .. Kind of like a Costco on a Saturday

I have actually been to that Bucee's. Crowded yes, but useable. After entering, go all the way around to the right and the islands on the far side of the building are easy access and have DEF at the pump. TA with the EFS card was still a better deal.

We just left St Augustine 14 April. The new Buckies is ok for your Hauler. Parking lot is large and alot of class A MH, 5th wheel and TT RVs in and out.

I recently stopped at the Bucee’s in Robertsdale, AL. It was an absolute nightmare. So packed we could hardly navigate the parking lot, people parking vehicles at the pump and going inside for 30 minutes or more and never getting gas. Fender bender in the parking lot blocking traffic. It took us over 30 minutes to get out of the parking lot when it was time to leave due to a traffic jam. Never again. Far too busy. But the pulled pork sandwich was tasty...

Not sure about the FL market, but here in Texas, the "New" never seems to wear off. The ones we typically visit are on TX Hwy 290, I-10 towards San Antonio and I-45 between here in Houston and Dallas. Even at locations that have been around for a really long time, the typical day will have crowds that make you think they are giving stuff away! Good luck--

The one close to me, the one in Texas City put in more pumps after being open a couple of years. Yea, waiting for the “new” to wear off at Bucee’s is futile.
I have yet to see one of the big stores not crowded.
