Cargo bay light behavior
Why do my cargo lights come on when I drive? Are they supposed to come on automatically?

Now I am going to have to watch. I noticed a few times that the bay lights were on and I was sure I did not turn them on. I figured I had killed too many brain cells with Bud Light and it was just me.
I will watch closer now.

I think they come on automatically (CS anyway) and when you close the door, they don't go off. Check you panel at the entry way and see if the lamp is lit when you come inside after you have opened a door (panel lights engaged of course, so you can see).

No, mine (CS) do not come on automatically when I open a cargo bay door, sometimes I wish they did - I know there's a mod for that. Mine seem to come on automatically when I drive (I don't think they come on when the engine is started, I think I actually have to be in gear and drive. I need to check further as to exactly when they are coming on.

Hawgguy mine go off when I start it up. They come on when I turn off the ignition. That is how And what I was advised is the design. Makes sense, but I still sometimes forget they came on and I can go a day or two without turning them off.

Good question. When I stop for a rest, or arrive at my destination, I notice that the CARGO LIGHTS button is lit and the lights in the cargo bays are on.

I guess it pays to look at the panel when dry camping!

How do you know the cargo bay lights come on when the door is shut? I think my refrigerator turns the light off when I shut the door, but darn it, everytime I open the door to check the light is on........

A little bit of the light escapes through seams and under the generator compartment. More easily seen at night.

I don't know about that, but I can tell you if you drop a jar of jelly and clip the botton in the door area on the way down, the light won't come on regardless of whether the door is open or closed
