Only other thing necessary is opening in bottom of compartment so should propane cylinder relief valve open the propane being lighter then air has a means of not accumulating in the compartment
I'm sure that you meant to say "...propane, being heavier than air..." right?

There heat won't be an issue because the propane is only filled to 80% so it has room to expand in a high heat environment. One safety feature you can use is to forget about the black plastic dust cap that covers the POL fitting on the tank. Instead get a red nylon POL plug that screws into the threads (left hand thread on all POL fittings). It'll seal tight so even a leaky valve won't allow any LP gas to escape. We use them all the time on our portable construction heaters. They usually have a small poly chain or strap that prevents them from getting lost when you remove them.

Propane tanks are designed to vent in case of high pressure. In theory the entire contents of the tank could be vented through the safety valve. Putting them in a closed vehicle like a towed is dangerous in hot weather or even in the sun on a cool day.

Putting them in compartments with electrical devices is also dangerous.

Significant venting of compartments is required for safety of you and yours as well as nearby people.

The fact that someone has never had a problem is great. The fact that a very few people have had major problems is also relevant.

I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead.

Use the same compartment as your Aqua Hot

The bin where my Aqua Hot is located has plenty of adjacent empty space that is separated by a partial wall. I store my water softener in an egg crate with space left over for my water hoses and coax cables, both in their own bags. This would be a safe place to store your propane tank. This space is deep enough to store additional cargo that you don't need to access frequently and is where I store wheel nut covers, spare water pump, fuel filters, fan belts, and other spares. I use the space behind my power cable reel for my internal hard wired surge suppressor if you need a place for that as well.

You do realize that your Aqua-Hot has an ignition source that lights its flame, right? Gas tank leak plus ignition source and boom!

I have a 2019 Entegra Emblem (gas). I have a large enough compartment in the basement to stand my 30 lbs tank upright. It is strapped in but easy to unsteady and take out. I also have it piped into the main coach system to use if needed.
