Question Ceramic coating cost

To those of you who have got ceramic coating on your 45 footers, how much did you pay?

Don't mean to get personal, but just wondered if the price quoted to me is in the ball park..

I have been told $4300 to $5300.

Many thanks.

That's not easily answered. I had my 2017 Anthem done couple years ago if I remember right it was around $3,500. 90% of the work is in paint correction before the application of the ceramic coat. ceramic coating goes on super easy, easier than wax. It took two guys a full week to prep my coach then half a day to coat it. I've been doing my other vehicles myself since then, don't think I would take on that Mega project by myself anymore. In my opinion it was well worth the money.

I had mine done 6 months ago. 5k and as already stated most of the work is the paint correction. Would I do it again, yes.

Ceramic coating cost

I have never had it done but as stated the real work is paint correction and making sure you find someone you trust is critical. Do your homework, lots of reviews, lots of questions, there can be a huge difference between the quality of the jobs you get. You could end up with a $500. wax job that you paid $4000.+ for.

Is paint correction just clay bar etc, or do they fix all the little dings and rock chips first?

That’s the million dollar question! Most who I’ve spoken to remove scratches, clay bar and perhaps a little orange peel if discussed ahead of time. No chips or dings

When they did mine they clay bar, polished out any swirls and minor imperfections, touched up a couple little chips using the touch up paint supplied by Entegra. It looks better then the day we got it. At least shinier. I don't know how to define the words prep. But like I said 2 guys all week in preparation. Less than a day to coat.

Would the price be close to what has been discussed if it were new? Our Anthem arrived early this week and PDI is the following week. I most likely get some exercise and Clay bar the light buff before ceramic coating. Got pretty dirty from factory delivery but otherwise great.

There are a lot of products to choose from out there. The higher the SI02 content the better. The best products offer SI02 and TI02 which takes two coats. Among the best are Ceramic pro and Gliptone. Both contain both silicone and titanium and require multiple coats. As others have said, you need to remove the imperfections because the coating will amplify both the shine and imperfections.

Mine Cornerstone was done, new from the factory and STILL required a mild paint correction. The cost for mine was ~9k and took 4 days

CP and Gliptones top of the line contain 20% SI02 + TI02. There are a lot of options put there that contain a lot less

Can you use a pressure washer on paint that's been ceramic coated? Not high pressure but enough to knock the dirt off. Or do you have to baby it once it's applied?

Absolutely. I use Americana SI02 infused Soap made by Americana with a foam cannon. I spray on the soap wipe down with my boars hair Brush and rinse with my CR spotless.

Note: A true SI02 with TI02 is three hundred % harder than clear coat. And probably 4X harder than the Sikkens they use on our Entegra's

DIY Ceramic Coating using Chemical Guys Hydro Ceramic Products…washed and did front and passenger side of the RV. Long process and see why the cost is soo high. The 2 sections we did was probably 8-10hrs so far and didn’t do a lot of paint correction…mainly due to not have the skill/knowledge.

Looks good for a DIY. Click image for larger version
