CF-80 Basement Fridge

My basement fridge has developed a problem, it appears to be a failed thermistor. Getting the part number and sourcing a replacement thermistor has proven to be a challenge, with dometic being pretty much useless with any information or assistance. Any ideas??

Is this what you need? https://www.ebay.com/itm/28214192255...RoC6PEQAvD_BwE

NOTE : Although these units only require x1 thermistor for operation, we do advise when replacing the part that x2 are installed in parallel. Should x1 fail then it is only a matter of unplugging the faulty part and plugging in the other.

Another buying option, https://www.allvolts.com.au/WAECO-TH...CO-SPARE-PARTS

Ernie, it may be a non-issue to you, but something we discovered years ago with the Dometic refrigerator/freezers (up to & including their current models) is that they will not keep food solidly frozen when the ambient temperature is greater than 95 degrees F. Even says so right in the operating manual!

Fortunately, we have an older Norcold refrigerator/freezer that fits in the same tray as the Dometic, so when we got our 2018 Cornerstone we removed the Dometic right away and installed the Norcold in its place. Now that we’re selling the Cornerstone, I reinstalled the Dometic, which is almost five years old but basically brand new in terms of usage.

Norcold no longer offers the particular refrigerator/freezer we have, but Engel Coolers has the exact same unit. Actually they have two versions of it. This one is the same as the Norcold we have:

https://engelcoolers.com/collections...camping-fridge

and one is the same unit but with a divider that allows frozen food to be kept on one side and refrigerated items on the other side:

https://engelcoolers.com/collections...camping-fridge

Just something to keep in mind if you find you’re not able to repair your Dometic product.

I had an engel unit on my boat for years Larry. Unfortunately, it died about the same time I sold the boat!!
It's nuts how a $10 part can crater an otherwise good unit, and the manufacturer has designed the unit for that part to be non-replaceable (Dometic told me this themselves when their customer support group could not find a part number for the thermistor either!!)
