This is correct, I found this out AFTER I had my MH inspected.

I did it yesterday.

As for the postponement, Where did you do this ? The DMV or county tax office? If I can keep from giving this county $2300 for a few months, I am all for it. My house is for sale & I will sever all financial ties to this state as soon as it sells.

All paperwork takes place at the DMV.

Last time i checked, Carteret Co., at the Coast, was the least expensive for PP Tax.
Not sure if deferring the PP Tax is going to help, once due it is my thoughts that you will have to pay, even if you do sell your house, all taxes have to be paid. JMHO

I agree, not trying to get out of paying my due taxes, just could use the extra time for the funds. In past years this tax would not have been due until March 1st of the following year, or 90 days from the registration renewal. My MH is registered at my residence, but has only spent 3 days there. It is always in use & not usually in NC. But that is where it is registered & until I move to another state I will pay for all expenses due from that address. With the tax postponement is there a penalty cost added due to late payment?

How did you compare county tax rates?
Are they publicly listed somewhere?
Hoke County rate is 0.73%
Cumberland County is 1.19% if I remember correctly.
Those are the only two I know.

Curt, haven't seen anything yet for next year, but this might help. It shows the county wide rates and individual municipality rates for FY 2013.
http://www.dornc.com/publications/20...tes_prelim.pdf
I understand that if you garage the coach outside of a municipality then all that is due is the county wide tax.
