A well functioning unit is very nice as induction. Be prepared to pay good money for really good induction pans (have a lot of steel in them). Even with good pans, you have to watch size of the pan but after a few months unhappy and frustrating learning the system, DW is very happy now with her 2 burner induction set up (True Induction and now Furion).
