If this is your first DP....do wait for the yellow "check engine light" on the left side of the dash to go out before starting the engine. I know, it takes a long time, but there are 16 DEF sensors that have to talk to each other before you can start the engine. Starting the engine to early, the conversation between the sensors is interrupted and false "check engine" codes come up.
I do wait for my light to go out, but my coach is throwing false codes that do go out after a few starts, or miles. Spartan tells me my Spartan computer needs to be re-flashed which take a Cummins Coach Care Shop to do it.
Hopefully yours is simple and the nice part of the first night at a repair shop is being able to check all of the no hookup systems out. If something doesn't work....you're at a repair shop.

Everyone needs to download the Spartan App. Most of the codes can be found in the app plus it has all Spartan service centers listed.

My Anthem went to Sacramento Truck Center yesterday for a SPN 729 FMI 5 fault code; Solid Amber, "Engine Intake Air Heater Driver #1 Current Below Normal Or Open Circuit" according to the fault code spreadsheet, dated 10/4/2015, that Spartan sent me. This is the second time it has been in for this fault code.
Also the last time in, they flashed the computer and on my trip to Arizona my mileage was showing as 99.9 MPG. It has gradually decreased and is now at 28.2 MPG. STC is going to re-flash the computer to correct this issue.

Thanks for everyone's input on the 5571 code.
We spent two nights at Premier Truck in Chattanooga (very nice place and nice peeps). They ordered and replaced the fuel pressure sensor, did a test drive and all was good....for two hours, then the light went on again. We're sticking to the "yellow light means go" rule of thumb for now. Will also pay closer attention when starting the engine and waiting for the okay to actually start it in the future.
Thanks again!!!

Thanks for that update. I wonder if that is one the 16 sensors that have to talk to each other before the "check engine light" goes out before starting? The wait time on mine is horrible. I am hoping the EMS flash will correct the wait time on mine.

I am referring to the Check Engine Light staying on before I start the engine. I timed mine yesterday and it was 42 seconds. It is frustrating when someone needs you to move and you can't start your engine "yet".

Like Johnny, I don't crank until "The wait to start" light goes out AND the amber check engine symbol goes out. Never had a code pop up in 30,000 miles. Yes, it does take 30 secs or so, but I like no fault codes.

Also i have found that if you turn the key back on (with the thoughts of starting) too soon after you have shut the engine off (def still being drained back to the tank), (approx 25 sec) the shutdown sequence is not complete and the check engine light will stay ON.
