Check the exhaust pipe itself, mine is 304 stainless steel. I polished it to a mirror finish. No tip needed!

I looked at the same thing on the Aspire piece. Easy enough to cut it into a sharp U shaped piece to fit inside the exhaust tip and attach it with a coupe of hidden screws top and bottom. Same thing, just hidden.

Gary, is that the one I posted from Gibson? If it is the right size I will also get mine ordered.

Chuck:

Your link took me elsewhere. This is a Gibson 500415, 1.5" intake and 1.5" out. The reviews say that sizing may not be accurate. However I can get it for $24.95 in 2 days with Amazon Prime so I'll buy one and see what it's like and if it works on the genny. Haven't measured the AH exhaust.

Gary, you're right, the link did not even go to the Gibson site. Now I can't find the part I linked. Thanks for the Amazon number.

Gary-

The Amazon reviews point out that the picture of the product is incorrect- the tip has no "neck down" at the screw end. The size is correct at 1-1/2 inches.

The one I received had an "extra" screw inside the tip, and some buffing compound left in the threaded female portion. I had to remove both before installation.

I got my Gibson 500415 today from Amazon.com and installed it in about 5 minutes. This is a VERY NICE piece of equipment, I think. It is polished stainless steel, that shines as much as good Chrome. It has a very solid clamp built into the exhaust tip. The clamp is integral to the tip. There are two slots cut in the generator end. There was some disagreement if the picture up on the web page is correct or not. Here is the reality. The slotted/clamp end IS slightly larger diameter than the front end -- it has to be to easily slip over the 1.5" exhaust from the Onan. However, it is less dramatic than see in the web page.

I am replacing the old one as it is already rusted and pitted, and I am preparing to use a Gen-Turi at Quartzsite, and the current chrome nosepiece (has a downturn) needs to be removed for the Gen-Turi to fit right.

Getting the junky old one off was much harder than getting the Gibson on. The old one was secured by two screws drilled through the chrome and into the exhaust pipe. One of the two screws was stripped so would not come out. I had to grind the head off the screw to get it to release. The new one is a tight, but nice, fit. I have attached 3 pictures to this post and they are self explanatory.

Looks Great Gary - are you going to be able to use the Gen-Turi with the new Gibson tip, or are you going to have to remove the new tip first to use the Gen-Turi?

Very nice and looks like it will be easily removable when you need to install the Gen-Turi. I will be ordering this unit soon... Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the report Gary, mine is due in tomorrow. I am hoping it fits the AH as well. If so, I'll order another one.

Greg:

Because the Gibson exhaust end piece is a downturn end piece, the Gen-Turi will not attach to the Gibson. It will need to be removed, but that is an easy process involving a 1/2" box end wrench. The Gibson looks very nice. If it holds up, this will be well worth it.

If needed, you might be able to cut the down turned end off the old extension and use that for the Gen-Turi
