Cleaning roof

Used the DW,s Bissell floor steam cleaner to clean the roof today. Used white distilled vinegar and no water. Had a few spots of mildew and took it off with ease. Her Bissell has a grove around the head so I took a micro fiber towel over the head held on with a small bungee in the groove. Actually, worked pretty well and certainly beats getting on hands and knees. Of course she now has several micro fiber towels to wash.

Good tip, I like that idea. I have cleaned some really dirty floors on commercial rentals with the steamer, never thought about using on the roof. I can see where it would really work. Thanks for that idea without having to wash the coach after cleaning the roof.

Which model Bissell do you have Chuck? I donít think mine is large enough to handle commercial jobs. But I love the idea of using it in the roof. It goes in the coach when we travel - along with a supply of pads.

I have the large 16 inch Shark. Using the large micro fiber towels sold by the bundle at Costco will fit over over the head like JH did. Now it just have to get the MH out of the hanger to get it dirty.

Donít see a model number on the one I used, but itís called Bissell power fresh. The grove around the head is where the pad normally fits, but a small bungee will hold a micro fiber towel just fine sitting in that grove.

Thanks - that's the same model I have. And I think Rick buys those micro fiber towels by the case.

Roof gets washed the same way same product as sides here. Soft brush & a car wash product that does not strip the wax. Roof gets the 303 treatment afterwards.

We have used a 1600 psi power washer and water only with good fast results once a year.

It does work well. but afterwards, the MH has to be washed as Awesome will strip wax running down the side. JH's method, doesn't require washing the MH after cleaning the roof. There have been times I have wanted to clean the roof without having to wash the entire MH.

Put on two or more coats of Bus Kote (http://www.hytechsales.com/download/...ta%20Sheet.pdf) and wax (or 303) is no longer necessary. It seals the fiberglass and ends white streaking from oxidation. I had my roof done by Superior Coach Detailing, a company that services Hearthside Grove in Petoskey and multiple high end RV resorts in Florida.

Good looking stuff.

Here I have just been using ZEP floor sealer. Lasts about 2 seasons. I still wash the roof to stop the dirt from running down the sides with light rain or heavy dew. I wish they made a product that would eat dirt.
