The hose has the sleeve the head attached to. Everything is attached with stainless steel hose clamps. 1 1/16 to 2 inch sold at Lowe's in Packages of two. I carry a spare package so I have the right size hose clamps if there should ever be a mancerator hose problem. I can fix a lot with Eternabond tape and hose clamps.

Now What

Apologies for the War and Peach post.

Took delivery of the 2020 Reatta. Did an orientation with the dealership on a Friday. The person who did the orientation was more familiar with Tiffin than Entegra and when it came to the macerator operation, he wasn't much help. Drove the bus back the RV Resort, hooked everything up. On Tuesday we went to leave, so I went to dump the tank, pulled the handle, switched on the macerator, the hose started to flop around, the pump and macerator made a bunch of noise, much like a garbage disposal. 30 seconds into the process the sound changed, no garbage disposal sound and the hose started to contract and it acted like it was done. Shut off the macerator switch, closed the valves, checked and the sensors still registered 30%. I pulled the gray tank valve, ran the macerator for a few seconds, shut it all off and then tried the black tank. Got the same results, disposal sound, hose stiffened up ran for 15 seconds or so, then the disposal sound stopped, hose contracted and all I heard was what I think is the pump. Hooked up a stinky slinky and went through the bypass routine. Left for our new destination, tried the process again, and it worked, but I only partially drained it. Few days later, tried it again and got the 15 second run time before it did the no disposal, hose contraction. Hooked up a hose and back flushed the system. Ran it and it worked for little longer and then no disposal and the hose contraction. Part of the appeal was this system having dealt with a Vacuflush and gravity dump in our 2016 Bounder. Not a Happy Camper.

What do you think?

Are you also running the black tank sprayer?

Not really clear, are you are saying the macerator doesn't drain at all and the 3" bypass does?

So my Aspire has a "Emergency Shutoff" or some such labeled 1.5" gate valve in the wet bay. It needs to be open, worth a check.

Re the clear hose, I agree you really don't need it for the mascerator, but it is sometimes useful so I added one.

The clamps have plastic teeth and you squeeze with pliers to install, they don't have any sharp edges.

The clear elbow for the 3" bypass is another story. Let's say your readers slip off your head and fall in the john just when you happen to be flushing it and go straight down into the black tank. If they ever get in the macerator you'll have a big problem, so you'll find your self outside in the middle of the night with a flashlight shining thru that clear elbow and flushing the tank multiple times till you see those readers sail by. Just sayin, it could happen ;-)
