Clearance Lights

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to access the wiring behind the front cap. Four out of five clearance lights do not work and I replaced all five.

Year of coach will help.....they are different. How did you replace the five?

If you replaced them with LED lights they are often polarity sensitive. Perhaps try reversing the wires on the ones that don't work.

Do you know if the lights went out all together or about one at a time? That might help with troubleshooting.

I replaced a couple on my 17. No wiring issues just the bulbs. I think the reason for my light failures was the seals had allowed water in. Those front cap lights take a pounding when you are driving in the rain.

More Information: My rig is a 2015 Aspire 44d. I replaced the lights using the procedure in an earlier post in iRV2.
The light fixture wire is embedded in rubber with no slack, so you must destroy the fixture and clip the wires. I cut the rubber with a fillet knife and pulled the plug out in pieces. Clipped the wires, one black and one brown.
To replace, I took 1” white rubber chair cups and sanded the flair end to a diameter that fit the hole originally covered by rubber. I then ran the new fixture wires through the cup and epoxied it to the back of the new light. Then connected the wires and siliconed the assembly back to the camper.

I did my 14, but I checked each light before crimping the wires and silicone the lights in place. I think Rob, Volddoc might be correct if the wiring was not checked first if they are LED lights.

It's too late now, but if a square had been cut around the light wires leaving the 1 inch plug in place, after splicing the wires the small square could have been silicone without any extra work. Also easy to remove if a light has to be replaced.
