Clearance Lights Out

Hello everyone, I am new to the form and not sure if this is the place to post this. I have a 2014 Entegra Anthem and two of the exterior Clearance lights above the front windshield are not working. Took the orange cover off and removed the two mounting screws, but the light will not come out. Any ideas as how to repair and or replace the two lights? Thanks Kevin

I had to cut the silicone with blade, then the wires arent very long but had to cut them and splice in new lights. Then silicone back in. Tommy

Yup. That's the ticket. Brobox has a post with a link to a superior replacement.

The Classic clearance light are not of the best quality. Here is a post with better lights for replacement. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/clea...ts-282123.html

Here was the photo post of upgrading the clearance lights. I decided to do them all at once and get it over with. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/side...ml#post3415720

If I didn't mention it in the post, with a sharp knife or a razor cutter, cut a square around the wires to pull them out leaving the one inch round plug in place. It will give the new silicone something to stick to. Trying to fill the one inch hole is hard, it just pushes back in when replacing the light.

BTW, Welcome to the forum.

That was the easy part. Cutting the lights out will be the hard part.. Hope the project goes well.

I have all three of them out. Isn't it just a bulb replacement? Do you have to replace the whole light?

Yes sir... The bulb alone would be too easy.

Robert, the lights on the Classic are un-sealed LED lights with no bulbs to replace. Being 2 piece, with no seals they leak and short out. They are not worth the labor to replace with the same.
Thanks to RLWoud for this photo.

The link above for the $6.99 light match the existing lights if you leave the bezel off and are much better quality.

In the past I've had Entegra send me replacements as they burned out. However, as others have mentioned those OEM clearance lights are not sealed and burn out once they get wet. It took me two years and 10+ lights before I gave up and followed Chuck's advice. They're all still working.

Thanks Chuck!

JMHO, but if you want the clearance lights to match in both brightness and reliability I'd recommend that you consider replacing all of them at once.

Ordered some spare Amber and Red - thanks for the reminder. I used all my Amber on the side blinker project!

Chuck, just got a whole set of new marker lights. What silicone product did you use to seal them in? There a multiple brown silicone sealers with differing percentages of silicone.

If they are the 2 piece lens that you show, clear silicone to seal the lens to the backs. If you got good one piece lights, no sealant needed on the side lights. If it is for the cap marker light, I got the darkest brown to match the paint silicone when I replaced those lights. I think it was GE, but the tube is at the MH so I am not sure until I go up there. I do remember it was the most expensive
