I agree with all three statements except the conclusion. As Marc might say - it's the reason they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
The chirp reminds me that my distance and relative speed for the vehicle in front of me isn't being monitored. I have had the system react several times when I was being cut off and really like it. Maybe it's just my system but I usually don't hear the chirp.
It can take a minute or so to resume speed, but I guess I'm just not in that big a hurry. When I change lanes due to a slow moving vehicle, I just press the accelerator if I want to speed up the recovery process.
My biggest issue is that I let the system do its thing and suddenly realize I've slowed to 55 due to a slow moving vehicle. I was just enjoying/relaxing going down the road.
As noted, you can't raise the set speed on green but you can use the accelerator and reset the desired speed when reached.
Not trying to argue with the OP, just giving my point of view.
