Condensation in fuse box

Since I found about 2-3 tablespoons of water in the Spartan fuse box I've been checking it every day. Dried it out good. Yet every morning the inside of the cover is covered in moisture. Is it not sealed up? And to answer Chuck, no I haven't driven in rain in over a year.

Good for you. One less headache to worry about. If you have some Silica gel desiccants packs try putting a couple of those in there and see if is absorbs the moisture. Living in FL I try to keep a few in a seal container, they have come in handy more than once.

I've never gotten that kind of moisture in my fuse and dont understand any good reason that you are getting it. The box should be at ambient temperature and there should be nothing in there that would cause condensation.

Do you think that you are getting that much water from condensation? The only thing that I can think would potentially cause any condensation might be some unusual heat produced by some of that wiring. What do you think is causing it?

What part of the country are you in now?

Currently passing thru mid Texas, Dallas, etc.
Since the only water I find is on the lid, which is at about a 20 degree angle from vertical, it's probably condensation. Fuses and relays are all dry and not any warmer to the touch. It seems to happen on drive days as well as parked days.

Think I may have found the problem. One of the previous owners got aggressive with a hammer trying to open the fuse box. Found a break on one of the tabs. A little silicone sealant and I'll see how it does in the next few days.

Now that makes sense.

Congratulations on giving it a second look. It didn't make any sense to me, and the problem that you found would seem to be a high probability cause. It takes finesse to encourage those caps off, not brute force !!
