Thanks Airboss (and others later) for answering my question before the thread was hijacked by other concerns Actually, I appreciate all.

Well, we knew that we needed to consider what containers would be involved if using both in quick succession, but Dee felt that she needed to give the whole unit time to cool before she switches to microwave from oven. So, thanks for the information. I believe she read through the manual and said she found no clear wording that suggested that she could use both. It sounds like some units you can do that, but wonder specifically if the Whirlpool units equipped in the 19 Entegras can routinely be used simultaneously.....

All she wanted to do was do some foods in the convection, but then was getting frustrated that that food was cooling down waiting for the oven to cool so that she could microwave some other food for the same meal.

I may call the company for a quick confirmation. Or maybe, I'll actually dig out the manual and try to plow through it.

Thanks again all.

Gary

Gary, speaking of hijacked and staying on subjuct, don't forget to open the vent that was discussed when using the heat of the confection oven. It will set off the smoke alarm. Don't ask me how I know.
Check and see of the Whirlpool manual has "Speed Cook". That is the combination confection/microwave at the same time.

Chuck

Opening and closing oven vents is way, way, way, too much cognitive load for Dee and me. We opened the vent the day we picked up the coach and haven't touched it since. Also, we have not had problems with the vent banging shut in a wind except for a couple of times.... we have found the cover for the vent does a good job of keeping it quiet, and we both sleep soundly enough that a little soft taping of the vent flap against the side of the opening is no where close to enough to interfere with sleep.

And, I will check for that terminology. I have never tried to read through the Whirlpool manual.... if the microwave works and I can heat up a few things when needed, I am good to go....

While we’re on convection/microwave ovens my DW found the best stuff going for cleaning the inside. Try it you’ll like it.

As fulltimers we are using our convection oven continuously. It gets real dirty. I clean it several times a year. I didn't find the fume free stuff to be affective so I went to the heavy duty version. Yes the fumes are bad but open the windows and turn on the fans. You will end with a clean oven with much less scrubbing. I cover the counter with a bath towel.

We use ours a lot too. Followed directions on can let sit for one hour for first cleaning and everything came off. No scrubbing necessary just wipe off and itís spotless.

Are you concerned about getting the spray cleaner in all the holes in the oven? As another full-timer we also use ours a lot and clean it with just very light soap and rinse well after every use of the convection oven. And I worry about getting light soap in the wholes.

Gary, there is a setting to use a combination of microwave and convention together. Iím not fond of it but it could be that I just didnít use it enough to find a way to make it work with what I was cooking.

To clean the oven, I microwave a cup of white vinegar for 3-5 minutes. Fortunately I donít mind the smell of vinegar. It loosens any splatters and cuts any grease. Wipe and youíre done. Easy enough that it gets done often.

Vent flap was open when we got the coach. Occasionally I will hear it bounce if Iím near the kitchen while we are rolling, but otherwise we rarely, if ever, hear it flap. There...think Iíve covered all the subjects.
