Coolant filter
Ok, I give up. Where is the coolant filter and what is the procedure for changing it?
TIA

I have the process figured out. Just not sure where the filter is located or if it's easily accessible. I understand I need to shut the flow off similar to the fuel filters, change it and turn the flow back on.

Found this on YouTube. I changed the one on my 350, never again. it was behind the oil filter and the shutoffs were plastic. Guess what the heat did to those? Yep, they snapped off when closing. I manually checked my coolant each year with test strips and left the filter alone. That was the last coolant filter I ever changed https://www.google.com/search?client...wbkPx7aMkA8_30

I found that also, but it's on a truck and easily accessed from the side. I see a filter rearward of the oil filter. I'll have to crawl back underneath and get a better look.
Update, I found it.
Thanks, Chuck

So, on a 2014 it is on the left side of the motor about foot or so back (forward on coach) between motor and frame rail.
The isolation is right above the filter and mine is a chrome hex shaped valve. use a small crescent to turn. it does turn very easy.

Be aware that, unlike most filters, you do NOT automatically replace the coolant filter on your diesel engine with the same exact filter unless you have one of the new-generator OAT-based coolants (in which case you use a COOLANT BLANK). A coolant blank has the same filtration as other coolant filters, but zero SCA.
If you have the older generation "low silicate coolant for diesel with added SCA, you need to test the coolant with coolant test strips and then follow the chart's recommendation for a filter with XX units of SCA.
So, absolutely, first job is to verify exactly what coolant you have! Check with your chassis maker based on your serial number to verify what coolant is in there.

If you have a good relationship with your service provider for your rv repairs, they might be willing to take you in the back with the chassis and have him show you where it is and tell you how to change it. We have lift for our coach, and raise them up making doing the services much easier. Also with the coach in the air, it improves our ability to do chassis inspections for issues. Contact any NIRVC service department for assistance with this issue.
