MSRP vs Actual Sales Price... THANK YOU! Jeff

Really? That figure represents a very deep discount compared to national sales data. I'm guessing that you ordered thru a build sheet? Just curious who is your dealer?

We got 33% when we purchased our anthem. I inquired about a cornerstone as we were contemplating going that direction. They said it would be the same.
Richardson's RV in Temeucla Ca. They are the biggest Jayco dealer and want to prove themselves with the Entegra line.

That discount would seem to be consistent with what other big dealers seem to offer. MHS posts discounts of 25% on all their Entegras and from what I've seen they will go beyond that level. RVOne is extremely aggressive on pricing and will go beyond the 30% level.

What led us to Richardsons was that none of the big three would touch their price

Here is a twist to your question ...
If a new 2014 Cornerstone can be had for about $450K (MSRP of about $600K), then on what future year would that same coach be selling used for around $150K.
I love the chassis on the cornerstone, K3 and 600 HP with plenty of torque. I have a budget of $150K. Just wondering how long I have to wait.
I did some research for RV Depreciation charts and here is what I found from THE BEST RV VALUE: DEPRECIATION IS THE MAJOR REASON TO SERIOUSLY CONSIDER A USED RV
///////////////
RV Depreciation Chart - Off purchased price of $450K (referenced article above)
1 18% 369K
2 10% 332K
3 7% 309K
4 6% 290K
5 6% 273K
6 5% 259K
7 5% 246K
8 4% 236K
9 4% 227K
10 3% 219K
11 3% 213K
12 2% 209K
13 2% 205K
///////////////
So, for a $450K coach, it looks like a $150K budget is not reasonable. Bummer!
Do the above numbers seem right?
I wonder if I'm doing the calculation wrong. For example, the way I did the calculation for years 1 and 2 was to take first 18% off the initial 450K value but then for year two I took 10% off the 369K value after year one to arrive at the $332K year two value. I wonder if the percentage off for each year is supposed to come off the original 450K value?

In reality the wait for $150,000 Cornerstone will probably be a long time. A 2006 Travel Supreme Select, the earlier version of a Cornerstone are selling for $150,000 + New and Used Travel Supreme Select Class A For Sale On RV Trader

Here is another version of the above chart. This one takes each depreciation percentage from the original selling price of $450K
First column is the year after purchase, then the percentage depreciation for that year. The third column would be the approximate used price for this coach after that many years ...
1 18% 369K
2 10% 324K
3 7% 293K
4 6% 266K
5 6% 239K
6 5% 216K
7 5% 194K
8 4% 175K
9 4% 158K
10 3% 144K
11 3% 130K
12 2% 122K
13 2% 113K ... 25% left from the original $450K selling price.
Does anyone know if this is the correct way to calculate depreciation? ... I like this chart better

You really can't put a deprecation schedule on a heavily desired MH. As yearly prices continue to increase, $10,000 + on the 2015's so will the prices on a used coach.
Example, I sold my 2002 TS that increase $4,000 in a year because (in my opinion) Entegras became so popular and Entegra was giving over the phone support for what was an orphan MH.
As baby boomers increase the demand for used MH's the value will continue to rise or hold their own. But if we have another 2006 economy crash, the prices will drop like rocks.
If a 4 year old Aspire is still north of $200,000 I think it will be awhile before a Cornerstone will hit the market at $150,000. JMO New and Used Entegra Coach Class A For Sale On RV Trader
Your chart show 9-10 years old and that would be about right, again JMO. A long wait for a $150,000. Cornerstone

Yes. I went back to the original article to try to figure out which one of my tables was right. It turns out, the second one is correct. So, yes, 9-10 years.
I'm buying 5 years from now, so that would mean buying a used 2010 Cornerstone.
If not the Cornerstone, something else with similar chassis. I need all the CCC I can get for how I plan to use the RV.

When you are buying a ten year old coach, depreciation charts mean very little. What matters is supply and demand, and even moreso CONDITION. A pristine 10 yr old could be worth twice the price of a 10 yrold beater.

Yes. I personally believe that the current business cycle from the trough in June of 2009 is pretty much overdue for the next downturn. Since the stock market usually turns over before GDP does, we may be seeing the beginning of the next recession now ...
So, I think within 5 years, I may be able to get a used 2010 or newer Cornerstone for the $150K price.
