Can someone please help me understand why a Cornerstone sets 4 to 6 inches lower to the ground then a Newmar Essex or a King Aire and the advantages or disadvantages for the Cornerstone ????

1. the structure on a Newmar sits about 1 to 2 inches above the chassis. Newmar went to the new design in 2016. Less road harshness and allows more room for the new HWH slides. Also according to marketing propaganda the strongest in the industry. Who knows but the engineers anyway.
2. Newmar went to the tray ceiling in the master bath. That allows 6 more inches of head room. Other areas in the coach are the same as cornerstone
3. By going taller on the sides that allows the awnings over the slides to have the mechanism (roller can) on the side of the coach and not on the slide itself. Less likely to collect debris since water just runs off the awing with no obstructions. Having the roller on the slide has a tendency to collect debris.
That is what I learned when I made the switch. So far it is as advertised.
