Cornerstone Insurance
[B][/BInsurance... 2015 Cornerstone. The first year (2016) we used National General insurance through a broker that was at rally where we purchased the rig. The 2nd year same broker we asked them to check out Progressive and it was less cost so we changed over. Paid in full premium was about $3200 a year. It is coming up for renewal in July. Wondering if the cost is in the ballpark of others insurance for an Entegra Cornerstone. We are in a complicated spot because we now have some body damage that needs body repair. We have a high deductible. We have not made any claims and haven't put one in for this injury yet. Wondering if our premium is in the ballpark for other Cornerstone owners.

Hi Cookie
When we traded in our Anthem three months ago, we had been paying $1900 in one annual premium. Our insurance was "full and five" with Nationwide. Then we tried to renew with the same company but Nationwide will no longer insure coaches over 36 or 37' long and not for any "value" over about $300,000. If we could have gotten it because we would have been grandfathered in as a prior owner (they would waive the length for previous customers), but they choked when I told them what this Cornerstone cost. If they had written the policy it would have been $2700 and some change. So, I had to change to SafeCo and got "full replacement insurance" (what I call "Fulll and Five") for 5 years but it cost me $3200 and change for the same coverage. My deductable is $2,000 for all the standard stuff. So, my new (3 years), more costly coach is costing us $1300 more a year.
I was told by my prior agent that Nationwide took a bath in both collision costs and hurricne costs over the past year and desperately wants to get out of the luxury 45' coach business and is not renewing almost all of their policies through GoodSam when their contract ended with GoodSam in March 2018. If you have GoodSam, I am told they will not renew you at the end of your current term.

Thank You Gary, wish we had full windshield coverage! I guess we are in the ballpark on premiums. Believe we have the 5 yr replacement coverage. We have a medium bump and bruise body work needs to be done. We renew in July and I hate to put a claim in now because I'm sure it will bump up our renewal premium. There is a small area of fiberglass exposed that I have concern about getting wet of we wait until August 1st! Thanks again

Oh, forgot to say, that premium includes full windshield replacement coverage.
And I think every company that writes insurance in the South is poor mouthing about their expenditures last year, and it is hard to deny that they probably really dumped some cash in the hurricanes and flooding and the tornadoes .....

I am ready to go through the update for Cornerstone insurance. Living in FL after hurricane Irma, it is getting hard to get high $ coach insurance as Gary explained. I have had a couple of calls from forum members asking who I was insured with....not good rates for new policies. I am afraid I am going to be in the same boat when I start calling in a couple of weeks.
Also if you currently have full replacement coverage (a new coach) those policies are also getting harder to come by.

Chuck, Progressive wrote replacement coverage on our new one. Not cheap but at least they still are writing it. We were worried we wouldn't find replacement coverage.

Thanks Linda. My agent also is a Progressive broker so they will be getting a call.

We use a broker in Forest City Iowa because our first coach was a Winnie. Of course they work with all brands and all insurers. Our Safeco premium is half as much as many others including Progressive.

Move to FL and see if you get the same quotes Not to many hurricanes in WI, but you still get charged by companies trying to make up their losses. If FL, the all have losses.

I will be shopping for better rates as soon as I get home.... but I could get SafeCo locked in quickly, so I did. However, I will allocate a couple of days and cover the bases and then go with who gives me full and five with full windshield for the right price. Luckily you can cancel after 2 weeks and get 50/52s of your money back these days.... no penalty, so shopping I will go.

I am paying $2,853 here in Iowa using West Bend, our deductible is 500/1000.
While in storage with Comp only for the summer I am saving $135/Mo.
